I stare at her, confused about how she is here, but also curious to know why. Before I can ask, she speaks.
"Are you going to stare at me all afternoon, or are you going to let me pass?" she says, gesturing to the door I'm blocking.
"Sorry," I say, stepping aside to let her pass.
"So why did the Blood Tuckers have you tied up anyway?" I ask as she walks toward the road.
She turns to me and replies in an emotionless tone, "I wanted to study a vampire, but I was caught off guard."
She turns back and continues walking, but I notice a giant storm in the distance. I look back at her and ask, "Do you need a ride?"
"If I say no, will you leave me alone?" she asks, stopping in front of my car.
"Nope," I say, popping the "p" as I get into the car.
She walks around and gets into the passenger seat. "If you try anything funny, I will not hesitate to slit your throat and cut off more," she says, glancing down to make it clear she isn't joking.
I chuckle lightly and start driving in the direction she tells me.
I've been driving for about 30 minutes, but I keep noticing her glancing at me.
"Never seen a hot guy before?" I ask playfully.
She stops looking at me immediately. She replies just as fast, but she sounds slightly embarrassed. "Don't flatter yourself. I was just trying to figure out what you are."
"I'm a sorcerer," I answer as I pull up to a giant metal gate in front of what looks like a haunted mansion.
"I've never heard of them," she says.
"I'd be more shocked if you had," I reply. "They're most common in Japan."
She nods, undoes her seatbelt, and gets out of the car. She walks to the gate of her home, opens it, and pauses before going in. Just before she closes it behind her, she turns back and looks at me with curiosity and interest.
[Time skip: a few weeks]
It has been a few weeks since my first training session. Since that day, I've seen Wednesday a few times, mostly when I've been training against vampires or werewolves. She even invited me to her home a couple of times because Gomez and Morticia were friends with my parents before they died.
[Flashback]
"So why do you want me to come to your house?" I ask as I pull up outside.
"My father said he knew your parents and wants to meet you," Wednesday replies coldly as she gets out of my car and walks toward the door. I follow her inside.
Wednesday leads me into the house, where Gomez and morticia is waiting in the living room. The moment Gomez sees me, his eyes widened.
"My boy!" Gomez exclaims. "At last, we meet again!"
I blink. "Have we met before?"
"Yes, but you were a baby!" he laughs. "I knew your parents very well. They were among my dearest friends."
He warmly shakes my hand. "But enough about the past. You can call me Gomez and this is my lovely wife morticia."
I give a slight bow "My name is Kenshi, nice to meet you gomez and morticia" I say.
[End flashback]
But enough of that right now ive heard of sighting of a Wendigo in the woods so right now I'm investigating. I stepped through the silent forest, my hands tucked into my pockets as moonlight filtered through the towering pines. The air carried a rotten stench, like a corpse has been rotten for days.
Then a voice broke the silence.
"Have you seen my dog?"
A massive figure, nearly two meters tall, emerged from the darkness. Its pale skin stretched tightly over its frame, and its eyes were sunken and hollow. It moved on all fours at first before slowly rising to its full height.
I stared at it with interest.
"So that's what a Wendigo looks like in this universe. It kind of reminds me of that shy guy creature from the SCP Wiki."
I rolled my shoulders and shifted into a fighting stance, a small grin forming on my face as I sized the creature up.
[Omni pov]
The wendigo was considered one of the top ten fastest creatures alive in the modern era, its strength and endurance rivaling its speed. What it did not realize, however, was that it had just engaged the strongest being of the modern age.
Kenshi began to grin like the Cheshire Cat as the wendigo swung its claws toward his face. The strike cut nothing but air as he slipped beneath it with ease and drove a brutal punch into its torso. The impact launched the creature backward, sending it crashing through tree after tree until it finally came to a halt against a massive boulder.
The wendigo howled in pain as it rose from the ground. In the dark, silent forest, the only sound that followed was the sickening crack of bones breaking and snapping back into place as its regeneration took hold.
"So the books were right. you do have insane levels of regeneration," Kenshi muttered. "It seems I'll need a different strategy if I don't want to use my technique."
He bent down and picked up a stick from the ground, coating it in cursed energy.
"If my theory is correct, cursed energy should counter its regeneration like what happens with vampires," Kenshi murmured to himself as the wendigo wailed in rage.
The Wendigo growls and retreats into the woods, using the foliage and darkness as cover. But it didn't know that the human it was trying to trick could sense and see it with ease.
The Wendigo jumps out from behind the human, claws raised, about to swipe but kenshi turns around and grabs its arm, stopping the attack. He drives a stick coated in cursed energy into the Wendigo's gut, but before the creature could escape he seizes it's throat and in one fluid motion, Kenshi twists around 180 degrees with the creature throat still in his hand and throws it into the clearing it had created earlier when kenshi punched it in the torso.
The creature slams down, rolls, and scrambles back to its feet.
Instead of attacking again, it runs. It knew it was outmatched and couldn't win, so it did what all the humans it had once fed on would do when they saw it ran.
"Who said you coul run?"
The Wendigo didn't need to look back to know the human it thought it could hunt was already on its tail.
What felt like hours of running was only a few minutes, but eventually the Wendigo stopped, believing it had lost him. As it began walking toward its nest, it caught sight of the human from earlier standing directly in front of it.
The Wendigo froze in terror. It couldn't smell him or even hear the human approaching until the human was already infront him it.
The human walked toward it, appearing defenseless but the Wendigo wasn't going to fall for that again. It prepared to charge in one final attempt to win against the human no, the monster in front of it.
But before it could move, the human simply walked past, showing no concern at all. All the Wendigo could hear as he walked away was:
"That was fun."
[Outside the woods]
[First person pov]
Not even the vampire i hunted the last few weeks could satisfied my hunger for a good fight. I look at the stick covered in the wendigo blood.
"Intresting, the reason wendigo's can't satisfied there hunger or gain fat likes humans because the curses from commitment cannibalism removes there satiety signals and adipose tissue.
I throw the stick away as I walk towards my car i covered in brush and leaves so no one stole it. I take the brush and leaves of my car as I climb in, I turn on the engine and drive out of the woods towards the road leading to my home as carry on the waywards son plays on the radio.
