Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 15 — THE STERILE SHADOW ARRIVES (AND DUSTWIND MUST EXPAND — QUICKLY)

Dustwind Hidden Valley woke to a new kind of scream.

Not disciple screaming.

Not "Ancestor Miyu is awake" screaming.

Not "Miyu sleepwalked and polished a mountain" screaming.

This was animals and beasts screaming.

Birds fled in ragged lines.

Jin Haru covered his mouth. "It's erasing something—like it's wiping life."

Liang Yuefeng's jaw set. "Not purification. Destruction disguised as cleanliness."

Mei's voice turned grave. "This is not ordinary purification. This is… absolute sterility."

The words felt wrong in the mouth of a steward, but they were right.

⭐ 2. MIYU ARRIVES — AND REMEMBERS

Miyu stepped into the courtyard, robe spotless, waking like someone expecting a quiet morning.

She blinked at the sterile treeline.

"...What happened to the forest?"

Mei bowed stiffly. "There is a spreading sterile
