Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Body Heat

Rowan took out the stone knife, quickly and decisively dug out the arrowhead stuck in Owen's chest, then immediately applied the medicine.

Next, Rowan skillfully and carefully treated the other wounds on Owen's body.

Luckily, the medicine brought along was enough to use; otherwise, Owen would certainly have died from excessive blood loss.

It took a long time to finish treating the wounds; the blood slowly stopped and ceased oozing. Rowan looked at Owen, who was in a deep coma with pale white lips, his heart filled with mixed emotions.

The fire actually didn't have much effect; he checked and found that Owen's limbs were ice cold, unable to warm up.

He looked around, gathered all the two-headed bird feathers scattered nearby to cover Owen, but it still didn't help.

Rowan hesitated for a moment; saving a person was the most important thing.

He personally took off his outer animal skin skirt, spread it out to cover Owen, while he squeezed in to lie beside Owen.

He reached out to hug Owen's body, trying to use his own body heat to make Owen more comfortable.

This method was clearly effective; the body heat of the two people blended together, warming up quite a bit.

Rowan's nose was filled with the mixed smell of medicine and metallic blood; the strong smell kept him from sleeping, so he buried his head in the hollow of Owen's neck to breathe some fresh air.

When the cold bird's nest warmed up, Rowan couldn't hold on anymore and wearily fell asleep.

Meanwhile, the tribe was sinking into the pain of losing the Omegina again; for a moment, everyone was dispirited, with no enthusiasm left.

This time, it was mainly because that Silver-Winged Snake beastman had brazenly hidden right inside the tribe; with so many beastmen around, no one had discovered him, and they even let that hateful beastman successfully carry the Omegina away right from their encirclement.

It was truly a slap too hard on the faces of the Snow Leopard beastmen.

"Alright, you self-pitying guys, everyone cheer up for me, who are you showing those long faces to?" Elder Kain suppressed a belly full of anger, scolding loudly.

Seeing this, Leo had to lift his spirits: "From now on, the tribe must strengthen defenses. Just one Silver-Winged Snake could sneak in, proving our defense system has a huge loophole. How can we protect the clansmen like this? Everyone reflect on yourselves; you must protect every Omegina and cub in the tribe well."

"The safety of the tribe is ultimately entrusted to you young people; protect the tribe until death!" Elder Kain's words weighed heavily on every beastman's heart.

"Protect the tribe until death, protect the tribe until death!" The beastmen chanted in unison.

"Very good, this is the spirit our Snow Leopard beastmen should have." Elder Kain raised his hand to signal them to stop, directing some beastmen to help clean up the battlefield and take the heavily injured beastmen back for treatment.

Elder Kain called Leo closer, whispering: "You go back and discuss this carefully with Raison. As I see it, there is no need to go save that Omegina anymore; he himself was determined to follow that Silver-Winged Snake beastman."

"Impossible, he was definitely bewitched by that beastman." Leo didn't want to admit Elder Kain's words; even if the Omegina really helped Owen deal with him, it was because Owen used despicable methods.

In the beast world, it was impossible for an Omegina to like the cold-blooded Silver-Winged Snake clan.

Elder Kain painstakingly advised: "Even so, spending so much of the beastmen's strength to save him back, wouldn't he just run away again? And bring such a serious threat to the tribe. Think carefully; there are still many Omeginas in the tribe who were deceived away waiting for us to save them."

"I will not give up." Leo's voice was extremely firm, carrying a momentum that even ten iron-horned beasts couldn't pull back.

"I see you've been bewitched by that Omegina; you simply can't be reasoned with anymore." Elder Kain was so angry at this stubborn guy that he turned and walked away.

Compared to reporting to Raison, he actually didn't know how to tell his Papa about the fact that Rowan was snatched away again.

Arriving at the tribe, Leo stood in front of his house hesitating to enter, staying awake until dawn.

Asa woke up early as usual; opening the door, he saw his child standing there with a distracted look.

"This kid isn't sleeping properly, running out here to act as a door god? What's wrong, why do you look like this?"

"Rowan was snatched back by the Silver-Winged Snake beastman." Leo avoided Asa's eyes, speaking hoarsely.

"What? This..." Asa was momentarily speechless; another piece of bad news struck, and his body began to go numb by reflex, escaping reality.

Leo saw his Papa was so pained he couldn't speak; this made him feel even worse than being beaten or scolded.

Raison came out and saw this scene; he immediately understood what had happened, reached out to hug his partner into his arms to comfort him, then carried him into the cave.

He said to Leo: "Come inside and talk, don't stand outside the door."

"Yes." Leo dejectedly walked into the cave.

Owen opened his eyes with difficulty; a stream of warmth transmitted from his neck. He lowered his eyes to see the handsome sleeping face of the Omegina.

Then he slowly closed his eyes again.

Although there was no sun during the day in the Snow Season, the cave still lit up.

Rowan woke up; he gently withdrew the hands that had been placed on Owen all night and rubbed his neck, which was stiff from sleeping.
