They carried Aria to a makeshift medical area where Cassidy and other healers were already treating wounded warriors. As her mother examined her, checking for injuries, Aria noticed someone else being treated nearby.
Mira. Looking battered and bloody, with what appeared to be a broken arm and multiple gashes.
Their eyes met. Mira gave a slight nod.
"She fought," Liora said, following Aria's gaze. "When the Collectors realized we had found them, some tried to execute the prisoners rather than let us rescue them. Mira held them off long enough for us to breach the facility. She saved Margaret and Lily's lives."
"Where was she?" Aria asked. "Inside?"
"She has been shadowing the Collectors for weeks," Kaelan said, appearing with water and blankets. "Tracked them to this facility, sent us the location, then infiltrated to keep tabs on you. When the fighting started, she chose to protect the prisoners instead of escaping."
