"Oh! Never been better." Sophia replied. After all, she never had an entire room and an in-built bathroom, all to herself, before. She used to live in the guest room, in her house or maybe her room was used as a guest room, anyways. There was anything but privacy there. What's more, she has slept more nights on the sofa in the hall, then her so-called room.
" I am glad to hear that.Then, you can proceed." Granny urged, making Sophia raise her eyebrow in confusion. Proceed what!
'Oh! Is this her way of saying, you can leave now? Does she know about my job? Or does she want me to know that I am not part of the family and I shouldn't be here, at this dining table?
How rude!' Sophia wondered, but at the end, she still nodded out of respect and got up from the chair. Bringing a smile on the granny's face.
In the next moment, she walked out of the house, grabbed the cab and sat quietly while the driver took her to her destination. Her office.
Meanwhile, everyone watched Sophia's departure, then at each other, in confusion.
"Alex, where is she going?" Granny asked the newly become groom, who, himself, was confused.
He just shrugged, not knowing how to answer.
"Then, go and have a look." Granny urged, making Alex to leave the table. He was definitely annoyed, but more than that he was worried about the young girl, the one they call his betrothed. Why did she leave the house? Where is she going? Is she even safe, that's the bottom line.
He watched her boarding the cab and sighed. He clicked the picture of the back of the cab and sent it to his PA with a message, ' Ensure the safety of the passenger.'
'Noted Boss.I will assign the trail.' His PA replied.
Only then Alex turns his back away and walks back inside the house.
"She left. I don't know where she went. But apparently she isn't coming anytime soon." Alex reported, making granny to glare at Alex.
As if anything can remain hidden from her grandson, if he chooses to pursue. But he definitely isn't interested. This fool.
"Well, since our granddaughter-in-law is not here to prepare the food and fulfill the ritual, then what's there to look forward to. Tell Martha to send my food to my room. I will see you all in the office at 10 am." Alma gave her departing words and left.
Letting everyone know that the head of the family is upset.
Soon, the servants took over and one after another dishes got served on the table, while the remaining members of Raichand family exchanged glances with each other.
"It's going to be a long day." Grandpa uttered. He found his wife's new obsession, his granddaughter-in-law, quite unsettling.
'Just what is so special about that girl that made Alma broke the heart of her beloved grandson.' Grandpa wondered. After all, Alex and Maria's love story is quite famous. So, it's impossible for Alma to not know about it.
Anyways, as long as his wife is happy, that's all that matters.

Every person was busy, the atmosphere was fully packed with work vibes.
As the mood of the highest authorities of the company was not good.
At MD's office,
" How dare she? Just who on the earth she thinks she is? How dare she treat us like that? Just where did she go? Is she even safe there? Why on the earth did she even leave? Did she return to her parents home?
Just what on the fucking earth is wrong with that girl? Is she brainless? How can she not differentiate between good and bad? I haven't even accepted her, yet she is throwing tantrums. Does she lack common sense?
I am her mother-in-law. She is supposed to treat me like a mother. But forget about that, I am being completely ignored and overruled.
When I said, I will never accept her as my daughter-in-law, I was expecting her to convince me otherwise. Shouldn't she beg me, flatter me or treat me like the sun or moon?
Don't tell me she actually takes my words seriously? Oh no. What should I do? Should I go easy on her? Should I try to appease her? After all, I am her mother-in-law? Kaira, what should I do? How can I win my daughter-in-law's heart?" Mrs. Rachael Raichand was wrecking all her braincells, on the girl to whom she was supposed to dislike, all thanks to the society and its expectations.
But at the end of the day, Sophia is a young teenager. How could she dislike someone who is polite and understanding? Not to mention, now The Raichands is Sophia's home and Rachel, Sophia's mother. Fine, mother-in-law. But mother, nevertheless.
Kaira, who was listening to all her boss's rambling and doesn't know what to say or do, ended up saying:" Ma'am, this discussion is about whom? As far as I know, you dislike Maria. Or did you have a change of heart? "
"Why would I talk about Maria? I am talking about my daughter. Fine. Daughter-in-law. I am concerned about my daughter-in-law, Sophia Alex Raichand.
You see, she left, first thing in the morning." Rachel said, while holding her forehead.
"Should I tail her?" Kaira asked, making Rachel to wave her hand in dismissal.
" I am sure Alex has taken care of that. You know he doesn't play around, when it comes to The Raichands' safety. Sophia is a Raichand too.
I know my son. I have faith in him. Forget that. Tell me, what should I do? I want to become a mother of Sophia first, mother-in-law second." Rachel asked, almost anxiously.
"Calm down, firstly. Secondly, give her some time to get to know you, to open up to you, to adapt to the new environment. Thirdly, don't act like a headless chicken like you are right now, in front of her, you will end up scaring that innocent soul.
Fourthly, try to understand and support her. Forget the crap of the typical mother-in-law, those aunties have fed you. They aren't happy with their lives and they wish the same for you and your household. Do what your heart says. And before taking any major decision, you must counsel me, or else I know nothing, whatsoever.
Are we clear?" Kaira asked, while turning around to face her boss, only to see her boss with pen and paper. Aiye. This silly lady. Who would say, she is the mother of a son and that son is married?
God surely has his favourites. Look at her boss, coming from a prestigious family, falling in love with Adam [ Alex's father] who is willing to buy the world, if that can make her happy. The loyal gentleman, who was the most sought after eligible bachelor of his time mostly because of his looks, money, bloodline, talent, passion and love. But guess who became the center of the ocean of that love, yep, it's this goofy, silly lady, Rachel Adam Raichand.
