Chapter 5 - Beast King Kade!

[Ummm, Host, that's not entirely impossible. I can still help you return to your world, but I'll have to figure out how. For now, you can still dominate here during your stay.]

Stella's voice was sweet, coaxing Mira like always.

Mira sighed.

"Well… that's true. Since I'll be here for a while, I might as well leave an imprint and change my image before going back."

[That's good spirit, Host.]

"With that being said, let's go meet my new father," Mira said smugly, stepping out.

She painfully searched for her father's chambers. And when she finally found the wooden doors, she pushed them open and stepped inside.

A man stern, and commanding sat in the wooden room on a stone like carved chair. Mira assumed this was her new father. Beside him were two women: one older, sharp-featured and strict; the other around Mira's age, looking sweet and delicate.

This was her mother and sister, she realized immediately.

She glanced at them lightly before walking forward and bowing slightly.

"Hello, Father."

Her greeting was met with cold fury.

"Don't you dare call me father after what you've done," he snapped.

Mira frowned. What had she done? Shouldn't he be grateful she was alive after being left to die in a forest by his precious daughter, and her sister Elora?

She silently called on Stella, but the system quickly responded, her usual cheerful tone fading.

[Host… I'm sorry. I don't know the reason yet. It hasn't been stated, and I definitely don't have the ability to read minds.]

Mira groaned internally.

Wow. So helpful, Stella. Truly outstanding assistance.

Her gaze landed on Elora. who wore a carefully crafted pitiful expression. But Mira caught the smugness hidden in her eyes instantly. She was sure Elora was involved in whatever was going on.

She turned back to her father.

"If I may ask… what did I do? I'm lost here."

Before he could answer, her mother, Ria, spoke sharply.

"Don't act innocent. I still wonder if you're truly my daughter. How can you be so evil as to push your sister into a river in a wild forest? You wanted to kill her!"

Mira froze slightly. Wow... her sister had twisted the story.... no surprise there.

From the original Mira's memories, what she inherited told a different story: Elora took the original Mira to train, dumped impossible tasks on her, in the guise of training and ultimately led to her death, opening the door for Claire to transmigrate.

So how did that turn into this?

She glanced at Elora's "pure, angelic" expression and almost laughed.

Two sisters. Two lives. Same manipulative character. The only difference was that in her past life, she hadn't seen it coming. But this time she was ready. And she wasn't going to let her win. Not on her watch.

Ignoring her mother's harsh words, Mira addressed her father.

"Dad, I don't remember anything like that. What I know is completely different from what Mom is saying. I'm honestly confused."

Herod sighed heavily and turned to Elora.

"Elora, recount exactly what happened, the way you told us before. Maybe that will jog your sister's memory."

Elora coughed lightly, putting on a docile tone.

"Alright, Father."

She turned to Mira.

"Sister… I'm surprised you claim to have lost your memory when I'm the one that's even supposed to make a claim like that after what you did to me. I offered to train you because you were struggling to shift. Just to cheer you up even just a little. I wanted to teach you self-defense. I took you to the forest, but then you suddenly tried to drown me in a river. Luckily, I escaped. Even so, I couldn't bear to leave you alone in the wild, so I reported to Father and urged them to come find you."

Mira raised an eyebrow. The hell? she really planned this lie out well.

Stella chimed in her head.

[Host, here's your chance to redeem points! Prove your innocence and expose Elora for 25 points!]

Mira rolled her eyes mentally.

Yeah right. This wasn't a novel where evidence magically appears. She was the unwanted daughter. Elora was the beloved golden child. Even if she had the truth, the outcome would still be the same. They would still blame her.

But she could plant doubt.

It was still something.

She cleared her throat.

"Dad, I won't argue with what she said because I know how highly you value her. You'll believe her over me. But I'll just point out something simple: she claims I almost drowned her—yet look at her. She doesn't look like someone who went through a life-and-death moment. Meanwhile, I was found unconscious in a wild forest and spent two days in a coma."

She paused before adding calmly,

"Also… how exactly could someone as weak as me overpower Elora? She's trained. I'm not. If this situation wasn't being judged with bias, it would be clear who almost died between the two of us."

As expected, Elora's face twitched, turning slightly grim.

And in a quick, desperate attempt to save herself, she blurted,

"Dad, Mom… I'll take the blame. Sister clearly doesn't want to admit anything. Punish me instead!"

Both parents' faces Instantly soured at the thought of punishing their precious daughter. And mira who witnessed this almost sneered.

Herod cleared his throat loudly.

"A-Alright. Enough. Since the truth isn't clear, I'll overlook it this time. But nothing like this should ever be repeated!"

Mira and Elora answered together,

"Yes, Father."

"Good," Herod said, straightening. "Now let's discuss something important."

His expression turned serious.

"One of the Beast Kings is holding a ceremony… Beast King Kade, of the Dragon Tribe. And not attending is not an option."
