Calculating the time, it's been nearly twenty days in the state capital; it's time to head back.
So, I picked up Melissa Lopez and drove straight back to Oakfield.
I planned to stay in Oakfield for a while, and when I returned, I would get ready for final exams.
The car moved steadily on the highway.
Inside the car, Melissa sat in the passenger seat. She occasionally lifted her head to look at me, seemingly wanting to say something but hesitating.
"What's the matter?" I asked in surprise.
Melissa smiled brightly and said softly, "Nothing much, it's just... a few days ago, that man called me, wanting me to ask you for a favor."
I was taken aback.
The man she mentioned was naturally Jack Lopez.
"But I ignored him. I've completely cut ties with him, and after all, it's his son who caused the trouble, why should I help him plead?"
Melissa spoke indignantly, "That Dylan Lopez is as annoying as Jerry Lopez, they're not my brothers, I don't have brothers like them!"
