Chapter 17 - Just a Bunch of Thugs

"Don't rush, don't rush, one at a time!"

I quickly said.

"Ninth Master, your leg and back problems are simple to fix. I'll give you a massage later, and you'll feel much better. At your age, you should exercise more."

After a moment's thought, I continued, "How about this? I'll prepare some nourishing, health-enhancing medicine for you another day, and after you drink it, I promise you'll feel much stronger."

"Great! Great! Thank you so much, Thompson." Ninth Master Thomas said delightedly.

Then I looked at President Roberts.

President Roberts's hair was sparse, with a shiny bald spot in the middle, commonly known as a 'Mediterranean hairstyle.'

President Roberts looked at me eagerly, "Thompson, is there any hope for my hair?"

I showed a thoughtful expression. In the "Divine Farmer Scripture," there are indeed herbs with hair-growing properties. I nodded and said, "It can be treated. I'll prepare some medicine for you another day."

"That's wonderful!" President Roberts breathed a sigh of relief, his face full of excitement.

Being bald had troubled him for a long time; he'd tried many medicines and folk remedies without any success, and watching his hair disappear bit by bit was very distressing.

Now, receiving a definite answer from Charlie, how could he not be excited?

"Thompson, come, let me toast to you." President Roberts held a glass of wine and toasted me.

Afterward, I checked on the others as well.

For ailments like frozen shoulder, a few massages would be enough for treatment. For other conditions, I also had solutions and planned to prepare more medicine another day.

"Thompson, you're really a miracle doctor!"

Brian Anderson kept toasting me.

I wasn't originally a drinker, but now that I'm a cultivator, a bit of alcohol was nothing. I drank glass after glass, with my expression unchanged, leaving Mr. Jay and the others amazed.

After the banquet and some chat, the crowd dispersed.

Before leaving, President Roberts and the others asked me for my bank account number and each transferred me a sum of money, ranging from ten to twenty thousand, and in no time, I had accumulated over two hundred thousand.

Looking at the continuous stream of text messages on my phone, in the past, I would have been overjoyed, but having earned a fair amount already, I was much more composed.

Mr. Jay was a bit drunk, so I helped him into his car, and Sarah Garcia drove off first.

"Thompson, walk with me!"

Jessica looked at me, speaking softly.

She held her bag, standing gracefully, with the dazzling lights behind her casting her exquisite, beautiful face into a dreamy haze.

At this moment, she was stunningly beautiful, leaving me somewhat lost.

After a while, I snapped back to my senses, my face slightly flushed.

Jessica chuckled, her laughter like a blossoming flower, beautifully captivating as if the entire night sky had brightened up.

I scratched my head, feeling more embarrassed.

"Let's go!"

Jessica smiled, gathered her hair with a raised hand, and turned to walk.

I quickly caught up, walking side by side with her.

"Thompson, I'm finding it harder to understand you. I never expected you to have such amazing medical skills. With such abilities, why deliver packages?"

Jessica glanced at me now and then.

In her beautiful eyes, there was an indescribable meaning.

"To make a living! But now that I've earned so much, I'll consider quitting after a while." I said.

"That's right. Then you should make more beauty cream. I can help you sell them. As much as you make, I'll sell." Jessica said.

"Thank you, Jessica."

"Oh, don't be so polite with me!"

We strolled down the street, chatting aimlessly. After more than half an hour, we headed back the way we came.

"Let me drive you back!"

Back at the Celestial Tower parking lot, Jessica pointed to her Ferrari and said to me.

"No need, it's quite late. I'll head back myself. It's quite far to Thompson Village, and it'll take a lot of time back and forth." I said, "I'll just take a cab home."

"This..." Jessica hesitated for a moment but nodded and walked towards her sports car.

Just then, several black sedans rushed in from both sides of the parking lot, accompanied by the sound of screeching brakes, stopping in front of us.

The car doors opened, and several burly men stepped out, their faces cold and unfriendly.

My expression changed as I tried to figure out what was happening, my gaze scanning around before focusing on the car in the middle, which was more luxurious and likely the leader's vehicle.

The car door opened, and a man in his thirties got out, tall and burly, with a cold, fierce face. A noticeable scar on his left cheek gave him a few extra degrees of a menacing aura.

"Are you that pretty boy?"

As soon as he got out, he looked at me, his gaze like a fierce wolf's, "You've got some nerve, daring to steal my woman, Scarface Hernandez's woman."

I immediately frowned, looking at Jessica.

Jessica's face was cold as she rebuked, "Scarface Hernandez, respect yourself. I, Jessica Jones, have nothing to do with you. How many times have I told you not to bother me?"

Hearing this, I understood; this guy was probably one of Jessica's suitors.

Scarface Hernandez's face twisted for a moment, becoming somewhat ferocious, "Jessica, I'm madly in love with you. Why don't you understand? How can you prefer this pretty boy over me?"

"Tell me, in what way am I not better than this pretty boy?"

"Scarface Hernandez, give it up! I can never like you." Jessica said firmly.

"You... you b****, me liking you is giving you face. If you don't appreciate it, don't blame me for being rude." Scarface Hernandez shouted angrily, his expression turning even more ferocious.

"Get him, cripple this pretty boy. If I can't have her, then no one can." With that, he signaled to his men.

"Scarface Hernandez, how dare you?" Jessica was a bit panic-stricken.

"Hmph! Why wouldn't I dare? Didn't you like this pretty boy? Today, I'll cripple him in front of you!"

"Scarface Hernandez, don't do anything rash! There's nothing between me and him!"

"Nothing? You're fooling yourself. You're protecting him, yet you say there's nothing? You b****, do you take me for a fool? Go on, get him, teach this guy a lesson."

He roared angrily at his men surrounding him.

The burly men received their orders, their expressions unfriendly as they approached me.

"Who dares?"

Jessica screamed, stretching her hand to stand in front of me.

Seeing this, Scarface Hernandez's rage intensified, his jealousy burning brightly.

"Hit him, hit him hard, break his arms and legs, then ruin his face. Let's see who dares touch my woman afterward." He furiously shouted, his face vicious.

"Thompson, run!"

Jessica shouted anxiously, her face full of panic and helplessness.

"It's my fault, I got you involved!"

Her voice had a hint of sobbing.

I remained standing, my face unchanged, calm and unhurried.

"Hurry up and go!" Jessica was increasingly urgent.

I smiled gently, reached out, and firmly grasped her shoulder, comforting her, "Jessica, don't worry! Just a bunch of thugs!"

Jessica was stunned, widening her eyes and looking at me in disbelief.

Just a bunch of thugs...that's all?

What was he saying? Didn't he see this big group of at least twenty burly and fierce-looking men? How could he possibly handle them!

"Jessica, trust me!"

I patted her fragrant shoulder, then took off my jacket and handed it to her.

"Hold this for me, I'll be right back."

With that, I cracked my neck and confidently stepped forward.
