Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Hunting and Being Hunted

In the distant past, before the Nirvana era had even arrived, the Australia continent was already renowned for its unique ecological wonders. While the central desert lacked vitality, there were still many humid zones around it, nurturing countless exotic lives.

The arrival of the Nirvana completely changed all of this. It was like a catastrophe, sweeping across the entire world, and profoundly affecting the ecological landscape of the Australia continent. After this catastrophe, the natural Law seemed to be rewritten, and the biological world ushered in unprecedented changes. On the Australia continent, the already rich animal species underwent intense hybridization and mutation under extreme conditions, giving birth to countless never-before-seen monsters.

From a high-altitude perspective, the Australia continent now resembled a bizarre and kaleidoscopic painting. In the dense jungles, giant vines entwined ancient trees, and in these dark depths, the eyes of unknown creatures gleamed. They either possessed scales as tough as iron or grew sharp claws capable of tearing steel, and every low growl revealed a power not to be underestimated. On the vast deserts, sandstorms raged, but in this seemingly barren land, even more terrifying creatures were hidden. They adapted to the extreme environment, becoming the overlords of the desert.

Even more astonishing was that those species that originally seemed docile also exhibited astonishing changes after the Nirvana. Some monsters swelled several times in size, possessing immense strength; others mastered elemental powers, capable of controlling wind, rain, thunder, and lightning; and some even gained intelligence. Those terrifying King-level monsters had already established their own beast kingdoms, standing in opposition to human civilization.

The entire continent no longer had large-scale human settlements; there were only ambitious explorers and a small number of wandering Martial Artist, so this place was also known as Adventurer's Paradise.

As the Ghost Fighter cut through the sky, rushing towards the Australia continent and gradually approaching the monster-infested land, the previously calm journey could no longer be maintained. In the sky, the originally vast and boundless blue gradually became shrouded in a dark cloud, which was not a natural cloud, but a terrifying sky curtain woven from countless flying monsters.

Liu Yun sat in the cockpit, his expression grave, monitoring all of this through the radar screen. The screen showed dense clusters of light points surging like a tide, each representing a fierce flying monster. Some had sharp wings that could easily tear through the air; others were covered in hard carapaces that even missiles struggled to penetrate; and some could even spray highly corrosive acid, enough to melt metal.

"Everyone, brace yourselves, we've encountered a beast horde attack!" Liu Yun's voice echoed through the cabin via the communicator, and everyone's heart was in their throat.

Ruby and the others tried to use the weapons on the Ghost Fighter to shoot outwards. Although the Ghost Fighter's weapons were not weak, the beast tide was too terrifying; it was simply powerless to stop the swarming flying monster horde, like locusts.

Some monsters resembled giant eagles, while others were like huge bats, covered in dark scales, occasionally spewing corrosive green liquid. Wherever they passed, even the air was corroded with a sizzling sound.

Even more terrifying were the intelligent low-altitude giant beasts, who seemed to be able to command other monsters, emitting deep roars and leading the beast tide to launch a very rhythmic attack on the Ghost Fighter.

Facing this almost endless beast tide, the Ghost Fighter's weapon System, although powerful, gradually became overwhelmed.

"Everyone prepare, we're abandoning the fighter, parachute to safety!"

If his own godsword brave was here, it would never come to this. The Ghost Fighter was not modified sufficiently, so it couldn't withstand the siege of so many monsters.

At the same time, there were King-level monsters on the Australia continent, and even he dared not confront the beast tide head-on. Abandoning the fighter at this moment was a wise, albeit desperate, move.

At Liu Yun's command, the team members in the cabin quickly donned their parachute gear. Amidst violent turbulence, the cabin door was forced open, and a gust of wind mixed with the roars of monsters instantly surged into the cabin. The team members leaped out one by one, like arrows released from a bow, plummeting towards the unknown ground below. Liu Yun, as the last one, also jumped out without hesitation, simultaneously activating the fighter's self-destruct program, hoping to some extent slow down the pursuit of the beast tide.

The Ghost Fighter streaked across the sky in a dazzling flash of fire, then exploded with a roar. The huge shockwave and flames temporarily deterred some monsters, but also made the surrounding air hotter and more chaotic. Liu Yun and his team members slowly descended with parachutes, their hearts filled with apprehension for the unknown challenges.

This time, all their supplies and equipment were lost. They had to prepare for wilderness survival, although this was not a big problem for God of War-level powerhouses; they would not die so easily in the wilderness.

And the scope of this sudden beast tide was far beyond imagination. In the distant sky, several Dojo of Limits spacecraft also failed to escape, they were also violently attacked by the beast tide.

Inside one of the spacecraft sat Liu Yun's former teammates, students from the elite training camp, who unexpectedly encountered this disaster. The spacecraft was teetering under the siege of monsters, and they also had to make the same choice as Liu Yun: abandon the fighter, save their lives!

The Australia continent, this vast land, was now a desolate and wild intermingling. The earth was covered by a thick layer of dust, and sparse vegetation stubbornly grew under the scorching sun, yet it could not hide the barrenness and desolation beneath. In the distance were endless sand dunes and mountains of grotesque rocks, and the occasional roar of monsters added an even more chilling atmosphere.

Near the site where the Ghost Fighter exploded, it was a mess. The wreckage of the fighter was scattered everywhere, metal fragments glinting coldly in the setting sun, forming a stark contrast with the surrounding scorched earth. The air was filled with the smell of char and blood, the lingering aftermath of battle and destruction. Not far away, the wreckage of several Dojo of Limits spacecraft were also scattered, likewise bearing witness to this sudden disaster.

In the Australia hinterland, carved by war and desolation, Liu Yun and his four companions, as if meticulously arranged by the wheel of fate, miraculously reunited on a solitary hill.
