Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Rejected again.

Prince Derrick rode his horse towards the direction of Mr Wilson's house.

He was going there to see Mr Wilson's daughter Claire Wilson, whom he has fallen head over heels with.

The truth is that Derrick has been chasing this girl for the pass three years now but she had refused to accept his proposal, but all the same he was determined to get her.

He immediately reached the Wilson's place and jumped down from Douglas, his horse.

Claire was in the garden by the side of the house not too far from the gate, so when Prince Derrick came inside she saw him and immediately a frown appeared on her face.

Prince Derrick approached her.

"Good evening Claire." he greets her cheerfully.

"Good evening, Your Highness." Claire replied back, but not as cheerful as Prince Derrick.

Prince Derrick noticed her mode, but nevertheless chose to ignore her tantrums.

Normally if it were another person who was being so disrespectful to him, he would have dealt with that person so severely. But this time it was different, as this was coming from the woman he's in love with and whom he was still trying to win over.

Claire Wilson not wanting to be rude to royalty, and looking for a way to send off the prince away quickly fakes a smile while asking,

"If I may ask, your highness, to what do I owe this visit for during this time of the day?"

Prince Derrick smiles, going straight to the point.

"Claire, am here this evening to discuss with you what we talked about the last time at Lord Kent's ball last week."

"And what is that, if I may ask my lord?"

Claire asked as if she doesn't know what he was talking about, even though she has already guessed it.

Standing under the shadow of the faint light being provided by the moon, she was a beauty to behold.

She was dressed in a modest yet elegant evening gown, which had a nice piece of art on it's own. It was draped in gentle folds over her figure-eight silhouette, cinched at the waist with a simple leather belt.

The deep blue fabric, reminiscent of a twilight sky, complemented her striking green eyes—luminous as forest jewels, framed by delicate brows and long, dark lashes.

Her chestnut-brown hair, gathered in a neat braid adorned with a ribbon, cascaded down her back like a river of polished wood.

Her succulent pink lips curved into a gentle smile, adding warmth to her serene expression.

Around her neck, a slender golden necklace rested, its centerpiece a gleaming ruby, a modest family heirloom, that sparkled with a quiet dignity.

The soft rustle of her gown and the subtle glow of the ruby accentuated her modest beauty, radiating a humble grace all around her.

Prince Derrick saw her and was mesmerized by her beauty and was more determined to have her in his bed.

Well the truth was that he doesn't feel anything or have even an atom of love for her. Instead he was just after her body and was looking up to ravishing her anytime he wanted.

In his agenda he would make her one of his mistress if she satisfies him well to his pleasure, but the thing was that Claire is

so thick headed and had refused vehemently to succumb to his desires.

But nevertheless, he was determined to have all, by all means and whatever cause.

"Come on Claire, don't act like you don't know the reason am here today."

"Honestly I don't." Claire said truthfully.

Prince Derrick sighed.

"Claire I have been chasing You for the past three years now, asking to be your lover and companion, your better half who would do anything for you but you turn me down every single time, why?"

Claire was tired of Prince Derrick disturbing her every time, over this issue, so she says to him.

"Your Highness, your are handsome, rich and brave. You have everything a woman would always wish for including now.

But the truth is that I have someone i love and cherish with all my heart, whom i want to spend the rest of my life with. This is why I have always turned you down all this while."

Hiss!

The whole garden was silent for a while, tensions were building up.

Prince Derrick was mad in his heart.

'Who's this bastard that wants to ruin my plans. Is he not afraid of the repercussions of trying to take what's mine.'

"Claire you're joking right?" Derrick asked trying to tell himself that everything Claire just said was a joke.

Sigh!

But reality has no time for games.

"No my lord, I dare not play games with you. The truth is that am really not interested in you and this has nothing to do with you being a prince or the son of king Alfred the great of Naviel kingdom.

But to be sincere with you, one thing I know is that you're beginning to disturb the peace and happiness of my life and am not comfortable with it.

Love is not by force, it's the decision of two different people coming to know each other more. It's not meant to be forced." Claire said, passing an underlying message.

"When did I do that Claire?" Prince Derrick was smart enough to catch her message.

"You have done it countless times my lord." Claire replied calmly.

"I have told you times without number that am not interested in you or anything that have to do with you but you keep on pestering me around the whole kingdom. Hmmm..."

Prince Derrick on the other hand refused to accept what Claire just said so he replied her,

"Claire Wilson, if you think I will give up on you because of what you just said just now, just have it at the back of your mind that you are dreaming. If I can't have you...if I can't have you, no man will. And as for that man you just talked of, I will find him and kill him!" he yelled angrily.

"You will do no such thing!" Claire countered back.

"You just watch and see, in this life and next you belong to me and me alone."

With that Prince Derrick saddled his horse and rode out of the Wilson's residence.

He couldn't help but think about Claire's rejection to his proposal.

Sigh!

He had been rejected again.

Meanwhile back at her father's residence, Claire Wilson did not take what Prince Derrick said seriously as she knows that he can't kill Prince Arthur whom she loves with her heart.

Prince Derrick won't dare lay his hand on his royal blood brother, as it was tantamount to death sentence from the king himself.

Yes it's Prince Arthur that she loves, and loves so deeply.

It doesn't matter what Prince Derrick does or say but it can't change the fact that she doesn't love him, nor can he do anything about it.

There's only one man that she loves and would ever love and that's Prince Arthur.
