Chapter 1: When My Life Started Changing
I always thought I knew who I was. On the outside, my life seemed fine, people would say I was strong, cheerful, and doing well. But inside, there was a quiet emptiness that no success or distraction could fill. I felt like I was walking through life with my eyes half-closed, missing something so important that I didn't even know what it was.
It started with small questions that grew louder by the day. "Why do I feel this way?" "Am I on the right path?" "Is there more to life than what I'm seeing?" I tried to ignore them, convincing myself that everything was okay, but the questions wouldn't leave me.
One evening, after another long day, I found myself sitting alone in my room, exhausted and restless. I closed my eyes and whispered a prayer. Not the kind I used to say out of routine — this was different. This was from my heart, raw and honest. I asked God, for the first time in a long time, to show me the truth, to guide me, and to open my eyes to what I had been missing.
That night, I had a dream that would change everything. I don't remember all the details, but I remember the feeling ,a warmth, a light, a peace I had never felt before. In the dream, I was walking along a path that seemed familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. Every step I took felt guided. I sensed God's presence, and for the first time, I understood that my life had a purpose beyond what I had imagined.
When I woke up, I felt different. It wasn't just a dream; it was a calling. I knew I couldn't go back to living the same way. I needed to seek God intentionally, to open my heart completely, and to understand His plan for me. It felt scary at first, because change is never easy, but deep down, I knew this was necessary.
The next morning, I started small. I opened my Bible and read a verse that seemed to jump out at me: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11) It felt like God was speaking directly to me. Every word was alive, filling me with hope I hadn't felt in years.
Over the next few days, I began noticing small things I had overlooked before, a kind word from a stranger, a song that seemed to speak directly to my situation, moments when I felt peace in the middle of confusion. It was as if God was slowly opening my eyes to the spiritual world around me, showing me that He was real, present, and deeply involved in my life.
It wasn't easy. Old habits and doubts kept creeping in. Sometimes, I felt tired or overwhelmed and wanted to give up. But every time I prayed or reflected on that dream, I felt renewed strength. I realized that spiritual awakening isn't about perfection, it's about persistence, faith, and willingness to follow God even when you don't fully understand the path.
By the end of that first week, I noticed something remarkable. I was beginning to see my life differently. The emptiness that had once seemed so heavy was gradually being replaced with a sense of purpose. My heart felt lighter, my mind clearer, and my spirit more alive. I began journaling every day, recording my thoughts, prayers, and experiences. Each entry reminded me that God was leading me, step by step, toward a new life.
Looking back now, I realize that the journey had already begun the moment I whispered that heartfelt prayer. That prayer opened the door, and God's hand guided me through it. The dream was just the beginning ,a gentle nudge that said, "Your life is about to change, and I will be with you every step of the way."
I know the road ahead will not always be easy. Challenges, doubts, and trials are inevitable. But for the first time in my life, I feel ready to face them, not alone, but with God's guidance. My journey of spiritual awakening has started, and I am learning that life with Him is richer, fuller, and more meaningful than I ever imagined.
