Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Why does Thanos love to snap his fingers?

The blonde woman extended both hands, blocking Thanos's gloved hand, and both sides exerted force.

But under the blonde woman's immense power, Thanos gradually found himself unable to hold on, his body slowly tilting backward under her pressure.

The blonde woman, by herself, had stopped Thanos!

That wasn't all; Thanos gritted his teeth, raised his head, and fiercely rammed the blonde woman, but it was as if he had hit a wall, bouncing straight back.

The blonde woman, however, was completely unaffected, not even blinking.

She merely stared at Thanos with an incredibly cold expression.

"Who is this woman? She's actually suppressing Thanos!" Rhodes exclaimed in astonishment.

"She's an Earthling! Are there people this powerful on Earth?" Iron Man's jaw dropped in surprise.

Thanos had brutalized Iron Man like a dog, proving himself to be monstrously powerful.

But to his surprise, this woman was able to effortlessly suppress Thanos all by herself.

It was no exaggeration to say she was like a god.

"It's her!" Coulson's pupils slightly constricted; despite many years having passed, he recognized her instantly.

Wasn't that Captain Danvers, Captain Marvel?

For so many years, Captain Danvers had been wandering the cosmos, seemingly having forgotten Earth.

But when Earth faced peril, Danvers had decisively returned.

Seeing this, Coulson felt a slight sense of relief.

Under everyone's gaze, Captain Marvel suddenly exerted force, directly forcing Thanos to his knees!

Following that, Captain Marvel continued to hold Thanos down with one hand, while her other hand clenched into a fist and began to fiercely strike Thanos.

Just as Iron Man and the others thought Thanos would be knocked out by Captain Marvel's punch, Thanos suddenly pried a gem from his gauntlet.

Then, using that gem, he instantly sent Captain Marvel flying.

"That's cheating!" Iron Man angrily shouted; if he hadn't used the gem, Thanos wouldn't have been able to defeat that woman.

"That's the power of the Infinity Stones!" Rhodes and Coulson were secretly amazed by the Infinity Stones' power.

Thanos had been suffocated by Captain Marvel's suppression, but after using one gem, he immediately turned the tide of the battle with overwhelming advantage.

And Thanos had more than just one such gem!

After Captain Marvel was repelled, the scene shifted to Iron Man, whose face bore scars and blood, and whose Iron Man armor had multiple points of damage.

Clearly, he had endured a fierce and brutal battle.

Iron Man, Rhodes, and Coulson all looked solemn, especially Iron Man, whose heart tightened slightly.

They were about to witness Iron Man's death firsthand!

Evidently, after Captain Marvel was repelled by Thanos using the gem, no one else could contend with Thanos.

Iron Man was likely making his final, climactic appearance as the last hope.

However, at this moment, Iron Man did not move to confront Thanos as everyone expected; instead, he looked at a long-faced man wearing a red cape.

The man extended a single finger towards Iron Man.

"What does that mean?" Iron Man was a bit confused, turning to look at Rhodes and Coulson beside him, only to find them just as bewildered.

And after the man extended his finger, a look of tragic resolve appeared on Iron Man's face on the screen.

As if he understood something.

Immediately after, Iron Man charged towards Thanos, who was at that moment making a snapping gesture with his gloved hand, but Iron Man tightly grabbed that hand.

Iron Man then engaged Thanos in close-quarters combat.

But the outcome was obvious; Iron Man was knocked away by Thanos in just a few moves.

Thanos then extended his right hand again, a look of endless triumph and coldness on his face, and said, "I am inevitable."

Snap!

With that, Thanos snapped his fingers.

Iron Man and the others watching the screen had a slight question: why would Thanos snap his fingers at this moment?

And earlier, when he had repelled that woman, Thanos also seemed to want to snap his fingers but was stopped by Iron Man.

Was snapping his fingers something significant?

Why was Thanos so fixated on this action?

And why would the future Iron Man desperately try to prevent this action?

With these questions, Iron Man and the others continued to stare at the screen.

After snapping his fingers, Thanos's face showed the triumphant demeanor of a conqueror who had completed his conquest, as if savoring the joy of victory.

But in the next moment, Thanos's face registered shock.

As if something was supposed to happen but didn't.

Thanos abruptly flipped his hand over to check the back, only to find that the gems originally embedded in it had all vanished.

Thanos realized something and sharply turned his head to look at Iron Man.

Iron Man extended his right hand, on which were prominently embedded the six gems that had originally been on Thanos's gauntlet.

"See? I told you I'd snatch the gems!" The Iron Man on screen once again looked smug, raising an eyebrow at Rhodes and Coulson beside him.

And upon seeing Iron Man take all six Infinity Stones, Thanos, after his initial shock, instantly turned ashen.

"I am... Iron Man!"

Under Thanos's gaze, Iron Man gritted his teeth and snapped his fingers.

A dazzling light burst forth.

Immediately after, something that left everyone in front of the screen dumbfounded occurred: all the alien legions on the battlefield, one after another, turned into dust and dissipated.

Finally, even Thanos, the cosmic overlord, likewise turned into dust and vanished.

"So a single snap has such immense power? No wonder Thanos always wanted to snap his fingers," Rhodes said, wide-eyed and suddenly enlightened.

As he spoke, he casually snapped his fingers a few times.

Who would have thought that such an insignificant little gesture could possess such destructive power?

It was quite mind-bending.

"So the Infinity Stones are specifically for snapping!" Iron Man also murmured.

After snapping his fingers, Iron Man suddenly lost all his strength, slumping to the ground, leaning against a large rock.

Nearly half of his face was severely burned by the energy of the Infinity Stones, and most of his Iron Man armor was destroyed.

Many people gathered around to check on Iron Man, but everyone knew that Iron Man's time was short.
