Alan and Lucas looked ready to explode with laughter. They'd never witnessed me retreat so fast before.
Seeing Phoebe's expressionless face, they obviously figured she was cutting me some slack since we had an audience.
They were probably certain that otherwise, she would've snapped, "I'm furious right now. Don't push me to smack you!"
The thought made them even more amused.
Both Alan and Lucas spun away together, fighting to contain their snickers.
They had to preserve their buddy's dignity, after all.

Now Jordan was certain he was finished.
Falling into Harold and his friends' hands would've meant losing some resources and business deals at worst. At least 'that person' might've found a way to rescue him.
