This time, I was behind the wheel. One hand gripped the steering wheel while my other arm lounged against the open window, eyes locked on the road ahead as I drove toward the city's edge.
We were heading to an empty mountain valley beyond the suburbs - the exact spot where we'd captured those Granger family members before.
Like I'd mentioned earlier, there weren't many hiding spots for those bastards in Clearwater, not with Harold watching everything.
One option had been Summit One, now nothing but bombed-out debris.
The other was this abandoned mountain pass in the outskirts.
Summit One housed Clearwater's elite and celebrities. The constant traffic through that villa complex made it useless for anyone trying to lay low.
That left only the deserted mountain valley outside town. The caves, derelict labs, and thick vegetation there offered perfect concealment.
