My smile vanished instantly as Sergio's screaming hit my ears like nails on a chalkboard. A sharp throb pulsed at my temple.
Honestly, Sergio doesn't even deserve this level of courtesy from me.
But with Harold right here next to me, I held back from saying what I really wanted to.
Choking down my rage, I spoke icily, "Say what you need to say or I'm ending this call."
Anyone would be furious getting screamed at by some random caller.
What does Sergio's rambling about campus queens and university perks have to do with me anyway?
If Patty wants those things, she can go earn them herself.
Does Patty actually expect me to just gift-wrap everything for her?
What am I supposed to be, the university president or some board member?
I had no clue at that moment that I was absolutely dominating the Clearwater University campus belle competition.
