Harold's POV
Charlies rushed up to me like an eager sidekick. "Harold, you need to get in there fast. Phoebe's probably terrified after being thrown into this mess..."
My expression darkened. Whether it was because Phoebe had landed in lockup over some brawl, or because of that photo Charlies had sent me showing some stranger getting cozy with her, I couldn't tell. Either way, Charlies looked oddly satisfied watching my mood sour.
Someone like me doesn't just show up at some neighborhood precinct without making waves. Sure enough, the station chief caught wind of my arrival and came scrambling over in a panic. "Mr. Bailey, what brings you here personally? You could've just called me directly if there was an issue."
I wasn't holding any government office, but plenty of Bailey had serious pull in Clearwater. Our network was bulletproof. Cross one of us, and your career was toast. Obviously, this police chief wasn't about to take any chances with me.
