Chapter 57 - Chapter 57— After the Storm

The world returned slowly.

Pain came first.

Then weight.

Then breath.

Leo's eyes snapped open.

White light burned his vision. The smell of medicine filled his lungs. For a second, instinct kicked in—his body tried to rise, muscles tensing as if another battle was coming.

A sharp pain shot through his chest.

"Don't move," a familiar voice said quickly.

Leo turned his head.

Chen Wei was sitting beside the hospital bed, arms crossed, dark circles under his eyes. He looked exhausted—but alive.

"…Where are we?" Leo asked hoarsely.

"Kathmandu," Chen replied. "Nepal. You've been out for five days."

Leo's eyes widened.

"Five days?" He tried to sit up again. "The match—what happened to Kaito Jin?"

Chen stood up and pressed Leo gently back down.

"Easy. You won."

Leo froze.

"…I won?" His voice turned sharp. "No. That's not what I asked."

His eyes locked onto Chen's. "You had the chance. I felt it. Why didn't you kill him?"

Chen stayed silent.

Leo clenched his teeth, anger and confusion mixing with the pain in his body.

"You gave him your power," Leo said. "You saved him. Why?"

The room grew quiet.

Leo closed his eyes.

When he spoke again, his voice was different—lower, steadier.

"My mother once told me something," Leo said softly.

"No human has the right to decide who deserves to live or die—no matter how broken that person is."

Chen looked at him, surprised.

Leo continued.

"She also said… if you keep smiling, even when it hurts, you'll survive longer in this world."

A memory surfaced.

A younger Leo, resting his head in his mother's lap.

Her fingers brushing through his hair.

Her voice calm, warm, unshakable.

Chen exhaled slowly.

"…That really does sound like her."

Leo opened his eyes.

"What about Lily?" he asked immediately.

Chen's expression softened.

"She woke up."

Leo's breath caught.

"She gave birth," Chen added. "A boy."

For a moment, Leo couldn't move. Couldn't speak.

"…Is she alive?" he whispered.

"Yes," Chen said firmly. "She's weak—but alive. The baby's healthy."

Leo turned his face away, shoulders shaking.

Tears finally fell.

Japan — One Week Later

The plane touched down quietly.

Leo walked slowly through the airport, his body still recovering. Bandages were hidden under his clothes. His power felt distant—like something that had burned itself out.

Outside, the air was cold.

Winter.

Christmas decorations lined the streets.

Inside a hospital room in Japan, Yuna stood near the window, gently rocking a newborn in her arms.

The door opened.

Leo froze.

"…He's really here," Leo whispered.

Yuna smiled, eyes teary, and carefully placed the baby into Leo's arms.

"He kept kicking," she said softly. "Just like his father."

Leo stared down at the tiny face.

"…So this is what it feels like," he murmured. "I'm… a dad."

He laughed quietly, overwhelmed.

Chen stepped beside him.

Leo leaned in and whispered near Chen's ear, half-smiling.

"You remember our promise, right?"

Chen frowned. "What promise?"

"If you marry Yuna and have a daughter," Leo said calmly, "she's marrying my son."

Chen smacked Leo on the head.

"That was a childhood joke!"

At that exact moment, Yuna grabbed Chen's ear.

"What did you say?" she asked sweetly.

Chen winced. "I said—nothing!"

She smiled. "Good."

Chen sighed. "Alright. We're leaving. My mom's waiting in China."

Before going, he looked back at Leo.

"Rest. You've done enough."

Lily

Lily slept peacefully.

Leo walked to her bedside and gently kissed her forehead.

"Thank you," he whispered. "For giving me a reason to come back alive."

The door opened.

Lily's parents stepped inside.

Her mother immediately pulled Lily into her arms, crying.

"My child… look what you went through."

Her father took the baby from Leo, laughing through tears.

"I'm a grandfather already, huh?"

At that moment—

The baby floated.

Just slightly.

Leo stared.

"…He hasn't even learned how to walk yet," Leo said awkwardly.

"And he's already flying?"

He laughed weakly.

"Looks like he's going to love martial arts too."

Epilogue

The stadium in Nepal was being rebuilt.

Cracks sealed. Ground restored.

Peace had returned.

For now.

High above reality, beyond stars and dimensions—

A figure watched through a crystal.

The Multiverse Demon King smiled faintly.

"…Interesting."
