Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 Moonlight Night

"Next group: Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yuhi, and Uchiha Chishimo. Proceed to Classroom Seven to await your instructing Jonin."

Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yuhi?

Chishimo thought of the young man who had provoked him on the day of the graduation exam, and the shy young woman who seemed to want to say something.

After greeting Shisui, who hadn't been called yet, Chishimo stood up and walked out, followed by a sulking young man and an excited, blushing young woman.

Upon arriving at Classroom Seven, none of the three spoke.

Chishimo and Asuma Sarutobi were at odds (in truth, Asuma Sarutobi simply didn't have a good impression of Chishimo), and Kurenai Yuhi didn't know what to say.

Ultimately, the three could only sit separately, quietly awaiting their instructing Jonin.

"It's quite desolate!" Without making a sound, not even Chishimo noticed, a tall figure had already arrived in the classroom at some point.

"But this suits my personality!"

Chishimo looked closely.

It was a tall, slender middle-aged man, wearing the standard green vest of a Konoha Ninja, with a Ninja sword on his back.

His appearance was rather ordinary, but his eyes were exceptionally sharp.

What made Chishimo feel particularly strange was the middle-aged man's pale complexion and very dark circles under his eyes; Chishimo would have believed him if he said he was ill.

This image made Chishimo involuntarily think of someone: Gekkō Hayate, who was killed by Sunagakure during the Chunin Exams.

"Are you our instructing Jonin?" Kurenai Yuhi asked curiously, her eyes wide.

"Let me introduce myself.

My name is Moonlight Hayate, a Konoha Jonin.

I have no likes or dislikes.

I specialize in sword Ninjutsu.

My dream is not grand; I simply hope Konoha can continue to develop."

Moonlight Hayate?

Chishimo began to search his past life memories diligently.

It was said that Konoha Village once had eight extraordinarily outstanding Ninja, who, due to their immense power, were collectively known as the Konoha Eight Colors.

Among them, the Night Dancer was surnamed Gekko, and he was also Gekkō Hayate's father.

If there were no surprises, it would be the person in front of him.

However, Chishimo didn't know much about him, only that Moonlight Hayate was composed, skilled in sword Ninjutsu, and an all-around Ninja, nothing more.

Moonlight Hayate's gaze swept over the three of them one by one.

"Now it's your turn."

Kurenai Yuhi was the first to stand up.

Due to excitement, the young girl's pretty face was slightly flushed.

"My name is Kurenai Yuhi, a Konoha Genin.

I like to eat wasabi octopus and dislike cake.

I specialize in Genjutsu.

As for my dream, I hope to become an excellent Ninja!"

Asuma Sarutobi did not stand up; instead, he rested his forearms on the table, crossing his hands, striking a cool pose, and then said in a calm tone: "My name is Asuma Sarutobi.

My likes…"

At this point, Asuma Sarutobi subtly glanced at Kurenai Yuhi beside him, then immediately averted his gaze.

"None."

"What I dislike are arrogant guys." Asuma Sarutobi looked at Chishimo, who was a thousand miles away.

Chishimo had a big question mark above his head.

Arrogant?

Is he talking about me?

How am I?

That's so unfair!

You're clearly just jealous, blatantly jealous!

"I specialize in Taijutsu, and my dream is to protect this country in my own way." With that, Asuma Sarutobi turned his head away and said no more.

It was Chishimo's turn.

There was no need for anything flashy; this level of self-introduction didn't require any tricks.

"My name is Uchiha Chishimo.

I specialize in… well… let's say Fire Release.

My dream is to protect the people I want to protect.

As for likes and dislikes, I don't seem to have any at the moment."

Chishimo had been a good young man since childhood, not picky about food and not wasteful.

When asked about such things, he really couldn't think of anything for a while.

Hearing this, Moonlight Hayate nodded slightly.

"I generally understand your situations, but I'm not clear on your strengths."

"Moonlight Sensei, what do you mean?" Chishimo asked, puzzled.

"Very simple," Moonlight Hayate said, his hands behind his back, his eyes emitting a chilling aura that made people shiver.

His oppressive presence was like a raging beast, completely unlike his outwardly sickly appearance.

"You can join my team, but you must demonstrate the strength to earn my approval."

"If you understand, come to the training ground." With that, Moonlight Hayate walked out of the classroom without looking back.

"Good, so powerful, just the aura alone…" Asuma Sarutobi looked as if he had a lingering fear.

Only by experiencing such pressure firsthand could one understand the power of a Jonin; mere aura was enough to crush the weak.

Kurenai Yuhi's situation was even worse; her entire body trembled uncontrollably, and her face was pale, seemingly still recovering from the shock.

Chishimo looked at Kurenai Yuhi's appearance and couldn't help but worry about her.

If just the aura scared her so much, if a real fight broke out later, he might not be able to spare a hand to help.

Although they were both Jonin, Chishimo already had the strength to fight his Sensei, Fugaku, but the opponent was one of the Konoha Eight Colors, and he dared not underestimate him in the slightest.

Shaking his head, he stepped forward and patted Kurenai Yuhi's back.

Her body trembled, and she hurriedly turned her head.

Seeing it was Chishimo, Kurenai Yuhi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Chishimo-kun, what should we do later?" In this little girl's eyes, Chishimo was a super genius with extraordinary combat power, and he had now clearly become her last resort.

Looking at Kurenai Yuhi's delicate appearance, Chishimo's heart softened.

He patted her shoulder and comforted her: "Don't worry, we are just students after all, Moonlight Sensei won't make things too difficult for us."

Asuma Sarutobi looked at Chishimo's calm and composed expression, clearly unaffected by the previous pressure.

Along with his humiliation, he felt more self-doubt.

How strong was Uchiha Chishimo exactly?

How far was the gap between him and Chishimo?

After calming Kurenai Yuhi's emotions, the three came to the training ground.

"Are you here? Faster than I expected." Moonlight Hayate appeared again from who knows where.

"You have five minutes to discuss your strategy.

After five minutes, all three of you come at me."

Moonlight Hayate strolled to the side, leaving enough space for the three of them.

"One last reminder: you had best be prepared to kill me, otherwise be prepared to be killed."

The faces of Chishimo and the other two simultaneously showed a hint of solemnity.

It seemed this Moonlight Sensei had no intention of holding back.

But that was fine too.

Chishimo also wanted to test the gap between himself and the renowned Night Dancer of the Ninja World.

After the previous stimulus, Asuma Sarutobi had temporarily put aside his competitive spirit.

He now only wanted to prove himself and close the gap with Chishimo.

"I specialize in Taijutsu.

I can take the lead later, and you two look for opportunities to attack."

With that, Asuma Sarutobi pulled out his self-made Chakra blade from his Ninja tool pouch.

Chishimo nodded, not rejecting the suggestion.

"Moonlight Sensei specializes in sword Ninjutsu, so we can use Genjutsu to restrict him."

At this, Chishimo turned his head to look at Kurenai Yuhi.

"Yuhi, can I leave the Genjutsu to you?"

Kurenai Yuhi's eyes curved into little crescent moons, delighted that her Genjutsu would be put to use, and she readily agreed: "Leave it to me!"

Chishimo smiled, without doubt.

"Then I will support Asuma with Ninjutsu from the side."

The other two nodded.

They had witnessed Chishimo's Ninjutsu, so they naturally had no objections.
