Chapter 67: Sun's Avenging Lightning

"Is he here?! V, we need to find him." Harry was looking around.

"I'm on it. Give me a moment… hold on."

Harry adjusted the properties of his glasses for a long-range scan. Just as he detected something, V spoke again.

"Nine o'clock, in the air. Around two miles aw—"

Harry took off flying at great speed.

"Harry, don't rush at him!" V warned.

"I see him clearly now. Bellatrix is right next to him!" Harry was not listening to his companion. The Dark Lord was so close now, and with only one potential Horcrux left.

If he could kill him now and capture Bellatrix alive, she could lead him to the last soul piece, thus preventing any future resurrections.

'I can end this now,' Harry thought.

'Harry, stop! There is something wrong with Voldemort. Look at his… urgg…'

The hat went quiet.

This finally managed to bring Harry back to his senses, and he stopped when he was less than half a mile away from the Dark Lord.

He was floating in the air and looking at him with a pleasant smile, while Bellatrix sat on her broom and floated at his side.

"V, what's wrong? Speak to me." Harry became alarmed. He had never seen the magical hat panic so much.

"G-get… a-way!" V muttered.

Harry felt a tremendous amount of magic rushing into his body, and he knew it was coming from the hat.

One of the main components he had used when creating V was a giant Arkstone.

More specifically, he had used Hogwarts' Arkstone from the Frozen World. This was one of the biggest in existence, and it allowed V to store ridiculous amounts of magical energy within itself. More than enough to decimate an entire city the size of London.

"What are you doing? Stop!" Harry shouted. Human bodies did not have the capability to store large amounts of energy.

And now it felt like V was trying to pump his entire reserves into him.

Harry's eyes began to glow with an eerie green light, and his entire body was surrounded by a luminous aura.

He could feel his body starting to shake. If he didn't release all of this pent-up energy, he was going to die.

All of a sudden, he saw Voldemort moving.

'D-don't… let… him…'

Harry could barely hear what V was trying to say. Their connection seemed to become weaker by the second.

It was then that a terrible possibility occurred to him, but there was no time to ponder.

Voldemort was flying directly towards him at great speed.

"Okay, I can't let him get too close." Harry was sure that something terrible would happen if he allowed that to occur.

His mind raced through his massive library of spells to find a suitable one for the situation.

There was a type of spell called "Grand Sorceries." Those were pieces of magic designed to be cast by several wizards or witches working together and uniting their magic into one single point.

Harry had taken these terrifying spells and pushed them one step further. In total, he created three pieces of magic that would normally need nearly one thousand wizards and witches to be cast.

However, Harry could bypass this requirement by using V's near-endless supply of energy.

He called them "Sorceries of Ruin."

Harry opened his arms. The runes on his body glowed with so much unrestrained power that the heat began to burn away his robes.

His eyes shone like beacons, pushing against the darkness of the night.

"Fulmen…"

In front of him, a small sphere of light appeared.

"ULTIONIS SOLIS!" (The Sun's Avenging Lightning)

Voldemort was mere feet away from him when his advance was stopped by the sphere of energy that Harry had created.

The sphere expanded rapidly as sparks of light flew across its surface.

Voldemort did not stop because he was afraid of the spell; it was because his body had stopped responding to him the moment he drew too close to it.

The sphere acted like an electrical magnet, attracting everything in its surroundings towards itself.

Trees, boulders, grass, and dirt began to be pulled inside the sphere as it continued to grow, eating everything away.

The only one immune to its pull was Harry himself.

Voldemort managed to slow down the sucking force by using his own flight magic, but this would only delay the inevitable.

The more the sphere grew, the stronger its pull became.

'H-Harry…' V's voice sounded even weaker now. This was also because he had already sent Harry most of his magical reserves.

'Hold on, my friend. I'm ending this now.' Harry poured the rest of his magic into the spell.

"Wonderful!"

Harry heard Voldemort shouting.

The man was barely holding on now. His body was inches away from the sphere. The moment it made contact, there would be nothing left of him… not even dust.

But still, he did not look afraid. Not one bit… in fact, the Dark Lord was very happy.

"So much power! It's magnificent! I didn't expect it would be so magnificent!" Voldemort screamed. He didn't even flinch when some of his skin began to tear away.

Harry glared at the Dark Lord without saying a word. He had to keep most of his focus on the spell itself. Just one small mistake and this whole area would be decimated, including the Weasleys' house that was behind him.

"Potter!" Voldemort shouted loud enough for Harry to hear, despite all the noise caused by the landscape being ripped apart.

"In the end… this will all be… MINE!"

Just as he spoke his last word, Voldemort's body was pulled into the now massive sphere of lightning and was completely disintegrated.

Voldemort had died… for the second time.

But to Harry, this didn't feel like a victory.
