He fought to escape.
He fought to rise.
He fought for freedom—
And he won.
He spoke his truths:
What he faced,
What he saw,
What he finally understood —
Hoping their eyes would open.
Mockery followed.
"Hypocrite," they called him—
For truths cut deeper
Than lies ever will.
And in the end, the system—
The same one he fought—
Dragged him back into it's depths.
Yet even as it consumed him,
He still spoke,
He still resisted,
Until he was no longer him.
