Chapter 8 - Chapter 8:END

A girl reminiscing with a smile on her face, that was the exact moment I knew I had fallen in love with her.

"I wish I could just—"

In a split second, my throat tightened, squeezing my chest. Every fragment of my vision seemed to reflect a truth about me, yet it was nothing like what I was seeing with my own eyes. The scene flashed through my mind in an instant.

Was that me?

Were you my friend?

My vision blinked twice. When I finally opened my eyes, a wave of comfort washed over me. My heart felt warm. The air smelled strange, but I could hear the faint sound of birds singing outside. Right beside me, a privacy curtain fluttered.A foot peeked out from beneath the fabric.

Wait, is someone else in here with me?

I slowly slid out of bed, the cool air brushing against my skin.

"Excuse me," I murmured.

I gently pulled back the curtain, and an immediate, overwhelming sense of familiarity hit me. There was a girl lying in the hospital bed. She had short hair and was wearing a bright red dress.

What? Could it really be her?

My heart pounded so hard it felt like it would break right out of my chest. That was the exact moment reality set in.

"You're real?"

Suddenly, her eyes squinted.

"Woah!" I blurted out, stepping back. She blinked rapidly and rubbed her left eye, trying to clear her vision.

 "Who's there?"

When she finally focused on me, her eyes widened in shock. She practically leaped out of her bed, lunging forward to grab both of my arms. I was completely confused, but desperate to understand. She reached up to cup my cheeks, her eyes shining with sudden brilliance.

"My friend—" I started.

"I—" she interrupted.

Before she could finish her thought, the hospital room door burst open, cutting her off a second time.

"Zizy, are you okay?!" Florence shouted, rushing inside.Right behind her walked a popular, recognizable actress.

"You're awake, my little sister!"
