Chapter 257 - I’m Just a Mortal

"How was the taste?"

Allen asked with great interest, looking down at the duplicated corpse on the ground.

Vaelastrasz answered without hesitation, "Exquisite! Both the volume of chakra and the medium required to refine it are far superior in him compared to other ninja. Furthermore, from this moment on, you have mastered the nature transformation and shape transformation of Earth Release."

"Superb! He truly lived up to being the son of the Third Tsuchikage; his attainment in Earth Release must have reached the pinnacle. It's just a pity his ninjutsu was completely countered by Thunderbird, leaving him almost no room to perform. Even more regrettable is that as Onoki's son, he never learned Dust Release," Allen sighed with a touch of disappointment.

Judging from the plot he was familiar with, aside from those later resurrected via the Reanimation Jutsu, the only ninja left in the entire shinobi world who knew Dust Release was that old man, the Third Tsuchikage.

"It doesn't matter. Regardless, the Kage of these Great Hidden Villages are our prey sooner or later. Kill them! Devour them! Let them become the nutrients for our growth and evolution."

Vaelastrasz made no attempt to hide her greed and desire for those powerful shinobi.

Allen nodded with a smile and said, "Heh, don't be in a rush. Be patient; the waters in this world run deep. Before obtaining overwhelming power, it's better to keep a low profile. After all, there is no strong government here to maintain order. Law and morality are basically non-existent; there is only endless slaughter, destruction, and hatred. It's no wonder Madara became so extreme; the world itself is broken."

"So, what do you plan to do? Kill all the ninja and let the ordinary people without power hold authority?" Vaelastrasz asked curiously.

As the Nen-ability cocoons continued to merge, she began to display high intelligence, even learning to peer into the memories of the deceased from the cocoons she had just devoured.

"No. I only want to resolve the root cause of the problem. As for the rest, let the people of this world handle it themselves. After all, I am just a mortal. No matter how powerful I become in the future, even if I could easily destroy a world, I will still be a mortal. As a mortal, one should not try to play God; that only leads to greater tragedy."

Allen spoke his thoughts nonchalantly.

He knew very well that competition and elimination are the eternal rules of nature. Whether the profession of "shinobi" is eventually phased out by history or not, war between humans will never vanish. Resources are finite; to compete for more and ensure a better environment for themselves and their descendants, the selfish parts of human DNA will be pushed to the extreme, inevitably leading to war.

"Understood! No matter what choice you make, I will be with you until the end."

After saying this, Vaelastrasz quickly reverted to the form of a dragon-head necklace, steadily channeling the Essence of Life and the medium necessary for extracting chakra from the cocoon into her master's body.

As Allen closed his eyes to feel the Essence of Life continuously strengthening his body, Kakashi finally finished off his opponent and rushed back in a hurry.

When he saw the duplicated corpse of Kitsuchi on the ground, his pupils dilated sharply. "You actually killed the son of the Third Tsuchikage?" he asked in utter shock.

"Yes. Although he was strong, he happened to be countered by my Thunderbird," Allen said, slowly opening his eyes.

"Your rate of growth is truly staggering! Does it have to do with your peculiar constitution and Kekkei Genkai?" As Kakashi asked, he quickly pulled out a sealing scroll to store Kitsuchi's body.

Konoha had a set of protocols for the death of such high-profile enemies. Moreover, this corpse might eventually serve as a bargaining chip to secure more favorable terms. As for starting a war over a son's death, such an impulsive move might come from the hot-tempered Raikage, but Tsuchikage Onoki definitely wouldn't. Like the Third Hokage, the Third Tsuchikage was a seasoned politician who would never gamble his village's future on a war with an uncertain outcome.

"I don't know either. Perhaps when we return, I can ask the Hokage to help with an examination. I don't know if it's just a feeling, but it seems my chakra is growing very fast, and it feels exceptionally easy to control," Allen said, feigning confusion.

Kakashi nodded thoughtfully. "Regarding your constitution, I've heard members of the Medical Team mention it. They said your cells seem to contain a special energy, and your bone and muscle structure differs from normal humans. Perhaps your lineage can be traced back to the distant Warring States Period."

"Maybe. But none of that matters now," Allen shrugged indifferently.

It was thanks to the chaos of this world that the lies he had told initially hadn't been exposed. In a world with a strict household registration system and resident identification data, an undocumented person like him, who came from another world with no local birth or consumption records, would have been found out in minutes.

"What is your current condition? Do you have enough strength left to support the others?" Kakashi asked tentatively.

Even though Allen looked unharmed, Kakashi figured that defeating an elite Jonin like Kitsuchi must have consumed a significant amount of chakra.

"No problem! Leave it to me," Allen replied with a confident smile.

"Then I'm counting on you! I must head back immediately to report the acquisition of this body and the news to Shikaku."

After a brief explanation, Kakashi sped off toward the camp at top speed. He clearly didn't know that the duplicate of Kitsuchi's body would only last for twenty-four hours. If it wasn't handled quickly...

"Forget it. I hope he can offload that hot potato in time. For now, it's better to deal with these Iwa ninja."

Watching the "Copy Ninja" vanish from sight, Allen quickly glanced at his Track Humanoids interface. After confirming the locations of Lee, Tenten, and Neji, he vanished from the spot instantly.

At that moment, the Genin of Team 3 were struggling against a Special Jonin skilled in swordsmanship. Lee, who could only fight in close quarters, had several bleeding wounds on his body and was kneeling on the ground, panting heavily, unable to fight further.

Neji wasn't faring much better. His left shoulder blade had been pierced by a blade coated in chakra, his face contorted in pain. Perhaps the only one uninjured was Tenten, who relied on manipulating ninja tools for long-range attacks.

Just as they were descending into despair, thinking they might die there, a flash of light flickered before their eyes.

The next second...

Squelch!

The Iwa ninja holding the long sword was sliced clean in half at the waist. A massive spray of blood and organs erupted, a scene so bloody it would make anyone want to vomit.

The person who had accomplished this was the newly arrived Allen. He was currently holding the short sword Tenten had given him, lightly flicking the blood off the blade before sheathing it with a stylish flourish.
