Grandma looked at Jojo and called upon him, "Come here, boy. Accompany your Mommy. She has been like this ever since you left…"
Jojo rushed towards his mother. He had never seen his mother looking so listless. Her face was pale as snow—so pale that Jojo thought his mother had lost all her blood.
His mother had always been a bit small and frail-looking, but he had never seen her this frail.
And thus, his instinct told him something was terribly wrong. He grabbed his mother's hand and gasped when he realized that her hand was so cold.
"M-Mommy, what's wrong with you? Why are you so cold?" Jojo asked while rubbing his palms on her hand, hoping to share some warmth.
But no matter how hard he tried to share some warmth, his mother's hand continued to be cold.
Jojo became increasingly worried and looked at the old lady sitting right next to him. He guessed this old lady must've been the 'Grandma' that his mother often talked about.
