Kael went inside the main chamber and carefully put her on the bed right next to Jojo, who was sleeping like a log right now.
"I'll be here by morning. So sleep well for now, Sisi. I know you must be tired," Kael said as he was about to leave.
However, Sisi grabbed his wrist, halting his step and said, "Why don't you sleep with us tonight, Kael?"
Kael's eyes widened. He thought he misheard it, but Sisi nudged the empty space on Jojo's left side. "There's still plenty of space for you."
…
Kael couldn't call himself a man if he didn't follow her request. He rushed to lie on the bed before Sisi changed her mind.
Sisi chuckled lightly. "No need to rush. You don't want to wake Jojo up. It's hard to make him sleep if he wakes up at midnight."
"S-sorry…" he muttered.
At first, he lay stiff like a block on the bed, but he slowly turned sideways to face Sisi, who had been staring at him the whole time.
