Hours passed since Sisi fainted after exerting all of her strength to catch Jojo before he hit the wall. She didn't know how long she had lost consciousness this time, but the moment she opened her eyes, she felt a weight on her stomach.
Sisi looked down and was relieved to see Jojo sleeping on top of her. She truly thought something bad would have happened to him once she closed her eyes, and she regretted not being powerful enough to stop Kael before.
She caressed Jojo's head slowly. The boy grunted a few times before opening his eyes.
Sisi was surprised to see his golden eyes. He stared at her emptily before asking, "Sisi, are you awake?"
Sisi sensed that something was wrong with the way Jojo seemed to be staring at nothing. So she asked, "Jojo… can you see me?"
The boy shook his head. "I can't see, Sisi."
"What?!" Sisi immediately grabbed his cheeks and checked his golden pupils. "H-how could that be? Did your Daddy hurt you when I blacked out?"
