Jojo had been playing with a uniquely shaped rock he'd found in the cave while waiting for his father. His father had said he would return after dusk, but when Jojo woke at dusk, his father was nowhere to be seen.
Still, Jojo wasn't all that surprised. When it was just the two of them, Jojo often waited in their hard-to-reach caves, playing with whatever he could find until his father returned—with a hunt… or with wounds covering his body.
"I hope Daddy is okay…" Jojo muttered as he waited patiently. He set his toy rock aside and sat, staring at the cave entrance.
The moon was surprisingly beautiful tonight, so he padded closer to the entrance and sat there. The cold wind brushed against him as he waited, prompting Jojo to shift into his wolf cub form for warmth.
"I wonder what Sisi is doing now. Does she miss me?" he pondered softly. "Jojo misses her already…"
