Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Before You Hurt Yourself ourself

"That's my personal assistant, Lu Zikai," Mo Yichen said.

Lu Zikai bowed politely.

Mianmian just nodded without lifting her head.

She was too embarrassed to look at either of them. Her mind was spiraling.

He definitely told his PA what happened between them since that's what guys do, they never keep secrets from each other.

If not for her stomach betraying her, she would have escaped this mansion long ago.

But the food on the large dining table smelled heavenly, calling her soul back.

Mrs. Chen approached with a silver tray, her movements elegant and respectful. She placed a beautifully arranged plate in front of Mianmian.

On it was, a perfectly cooked Wagyu steak, golden at the edges, pink inside, truffle mashed potatoes, butter-glazed asparagus, a fruit platter with dragon fruit and mango slices shaped like petals, a warm croissant, a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice

Mianmian's eyes widened. Rich people indeed live differently… Her stomach growled again, loudly.

She picked up the knife, determined to cut the steak quietly and gracefully.

The steak… did not cooperate.

Her first attempt... knife slipped.

Second attempt... a loud scraping sound vibrated across the entire dining table.

Everyone paused.

Mo Yichen's eyebrow twitched as he stared at her.

Mianmian laughed nervously as if she meant to do that.

Inside, she was dying.

Why is this steak fighting her?!"

Suddenly, Mo Yichen stood up.

Before she could react, he walked around the table and stopped beside her. Gently, he took the knife from her fingers.

"Move," he said calmly.

Mianmian froze and shifted as he leaned in close, his sleeves brushing her arm.

With effortless precision, he cut the steak into perfect, even squares. Each one neatly arranged back in her plate.

He set the fork beside her hand.

"Eat," he said softly.

"Before you hurt yourself."

Mianmian's face burned red while the maids exchanged shocked glances.

The Young Master never did this for anyone.

Lu Zikai almost choked on his orange juice.

Mo Yichen returned to his seat like absolutely nothing happened.

Throughout the meal, Mianmian didn't speak.

But she kept sneaking glances at him every few seconds.

After she finally finished eating, everyone else was also done.

Time to run.

"Huh, I need to get to my place of work now," Mianmian said quickly and stood up.

"Miss Wen..." Mo Yichen began.

But she cut him off immediately.

She bowed slightly. "Thank you for the food, but I need to go now."

And she rushed out of the dining room so fast her cross-body bag bounced wildly behind her.
