Chapter 30 - The End of the Magic Competition

A profound silence enveloped the place for several minutes as the referee regained his composure to announce the end of the fourth round of stage 6.

"The winner of the fourth round of stage six is Yuta Kaserall from the Midnight Beasts team against his opponents Gothar Maktair and Jian Yi from the Cannibals team."

"We announce the end of the stage six battles of the Magic Competition with the Midnight Beasts team winning, securing a crushing victory of 4:0 against their rivals, the Cannibals team."

A few seconds after the announcement of the end of stage six, the referee received a call from the competition judges that left him stunned. "What? All participants have withdrawn?"

The reason for the withdrawal of the participating teams was their witnessing the terrifying power of the Midnight Beasts team, which had defeated the Cannibals team, a team that had dominated the competition for several consecutive decades. Their humiliating loss had shocked them, so they decided that withdrawal was better than an indescribably humiliating loss.

"The winner of the competition after the withdrawal of all participants is the Midnight Beasts team."

Yuta turned his gaze towards Gothar, who was still lying on the ground, a faint smile on his face.

"Gothar, are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine. All my injuries have healed."

A look of enjoyment was on his face as he looked towards the sky. The setting sun on the horizon was reflected in his crimson eyes. Although he had lost the battle, he had gained a terrifying power and a trump card to his arsenal of abilities and techniques. He had only used 0.10% of that mysterious power, and he knew this fact, and that his path to power was still long.

After the awarding ceremony concluded, Gothar headed with Yuta to his team, the Midnight Beasts.

"Hello, my name is Gothar Maktair, the third son of the Maktair family."

His tone was filled with respect and calmness, a mixture of composure and reverence. Yuta's friends then introduced themselves respectfully, befitting their status as children of important figures in the Empire.

"My name is Grei de Moliar, one of the main members of the De Moliar family. I am honored to meet you."

"And I am Ruychi de Moliar, the youngest son of the head of the De Moliar family. I am honored to know you."

"My name is Beatrice Azuassen, granddaughter of the former Magic Emperor Buswal. Welcome."

"My name is Brivka Aslan. I am honored to know you, Gothar Maktair."

"My name is Lucy Kethali, daughter of the current Magic Emperor Bulgord Kethali. I am honored to know you."

"How did you two become friends?"

His tone was filled with confusion, as the Maktair family was a family of assassins and killers. The Maktair family carried out dangerous missions to eradicate the corruption spread throughout the human world, so it was strange for the Maktair family to allow their son to accompany children from other families, especially from the families of Yonglehed Kingdom, the main palace and the ducal family of the Maktair family.

Yuta looked towards Gothar and his companions, noticing some surprise on their faces. He sighed deeply and then spoke.

"We are friends like any ordinary people, and our friendship has not been for a long time."

"How did you become friends, since you are different? Wait, you are not different."

Ruychi's expression held a hint of sarcasm as he spoke. Beatrice then asked the question that was on everyone's mind.

"Does your family know, Yuta, that you are friends with someone who could become the future heir of the largest assassin family, Gothar Maktair?"

"Hahahahahahaha!"

Gothar burst into laughter after hearing Beatrice's words. He decided to address Yuta with clear sarcasm and mockery.

"Didn't you tell them?"

"Tell them what?"

Ruychi's tone was filled with confusion and surprise, and this applied to everyone. Gothar decided to clarify, as Yuta remained silent, not being interested in talking about his past or what had happened in the last five months.

"Only his sister remains from Yuta's family. As for the rest of the Kaserall family, they are dead."

Everyone's gaze shifted to shock as they looked at Yuta, who was indifferent. Whether they lived or died, trash like them was unimportant to him.

"Who killed them? Who killed an entire baronial family?"

Lucy's tone carried some shock and confusion. Yuta answered her question with an indifferent tone, as if it were a trivial matter compared to everything he had experienced. The death of the Kaserall family was like the death of a lowly insect, a step towards his greater goal, which was unknown until now.

"I killed them, Lucy."

Everyone's expressions turned to shock as they looked at Yuta, who was indifferent. Beatrice decided to speak after several minutes of silence that had dominated the place.

"Are you serious about what you're saying, Yuta?"

"Yes, I am serious. I killed them."

"Why did you kill them?"

His tone was full of interrogation towards Yuta Kaserall, but she ignored his disrespectful tone, in her opinion, which would have cost her life if not for the oath she had sworn to someone.

"First, I will ask you a question: am I human or not?"

Lucy replied to the question with a tone of increasing confusion and incomprehension of the unfolding events around her, and this applied to everyone. Yuta's direct question without any preamble was very confusing for them. "What do you mean? We don't understand anything that's happening here. Can you explain?"

"I am not 100% human. Because the one who claimed to be my father is the one who transformed me into a monster from three creatures: a demon, an angel, and a dragon. That's why I took revenge on them for what they did to me."

His tone was normal, indifferent, as if it didn't concern him at all.

"What do you mean by 'the one who claimed' and not 'the ones who claimed'?"

Yuta turned his gaze towards Gothar with an amused look and a slight hint of anger, then spoke in his usual tone.

"That was not my mother. My sister and I, she was the second wife, and she claimed to be my mother for seven full years."

"Does that mean they kidnapped her or killed her?"

His tone carried some suppressed anger and sadness. Hearing about such disgusting trash evoked his anger, especially in individuals whose veins flowed with heroic blood like the members of the De Moliar family. But Yuta clarified the matter for them further, stating that it was not as simple as it seemed to them.

"My mother is not dead. She was banished to the eternal abyss as a condition of a ritual they performed to obtain a recipe that grants a terrifying increase in power when I was five years old, one year after my younger sister was born. I will eradicate the underworld from its roots. However, this is not the right time. When the time is right, I will show them something worse than they can imagine in their minds. But what I am sure of is that he did not do this alone. There was someone who helped him because it is impossible for such a fool to tamper with genes alone. Someone helped him. Who are they... I can't tell you so as not to spoil the events for those who are reading."

His last sentence was a conversation between him and Gothar, to which Gothar replied in the same way with a tone full of mockery.

"You are right. Nothing should be mentioned all at once."

He left the place, fading away like a shadow.

"I must leave. Goodbye, see you someday, friends."

"Goodbye, take care, Gothar."

After two hours of wandering in the city of Kessemburg, night had fallen. The sky was adorned with countless stars, and a full moon illuminated the path of everyone.

"It's time for us to go home, isn't it?"

Each of them let out a light laugh, but they didn't realize that time had passed. Each person headed in a separate direction, meaning they each went to the hotel they had rented.

Yuta turned his gaze towards Brivka, who had not left yet, staying with him unlike the others.

"Why haven't you left yet, Brivka?"

A faint smile appeared on her face as she looked at Yuta. She moved closer to him and placed her hands on his chest, while he raised his head towards her face with the expression of a lover.

"I wanted to talk to you, creator."

"You know who I am. It's best to keep your mouth shut if you want your head to remain attached to your body, understood?"

His tone was filled with murderous intent and a clear threat to kill. Despite this, Brivka agreed immediately, wiping Yuta's cheek with a lover's gaze on her face.

"Your words are understood, creator." She then kissed Yuta on the mouth without any prior warning.

Several meters away, Lucy was spying on them from an alley, as she did not trust Brivka at all.

"How dare she kiss him, that perverted wretch! She stole my first kiss. I will kill her if she does it again."

Her tone was filled with immense anger and rage to the point of hitting the concrete wall opposite her into dust.

Yuta's gaze towards Brivka was filled with anger and wrath, so he slapped Brivka on the head.

"Ouch, ouch! Why did you do that?"

Her tone held some pain and sarcasm at the same time. Yuta left the place, ignoring her presence.

However, Brivka's admiration for Yuta increased even more. Brivka was the type who liked to marry strong men to have stronger offspring, to defend them and ensure a better life for themselves.
