Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 — Birth of the Dimensional City

It was an ordinary morning filled with warm sunlight. Yet this time, it wasn't the bustling city of Takumi's former world, but an endless expanse of emerald forest stretching toward the horizon. Rays of light pierced through the thick canopy, scattering across the soft ground like shimmering fragments of glass.

A young man slowly opened his eyes.

He had short black hair, a well‑defined face, and a tall, sturdy physique. But what truly set him apart was the unfathomable golden glint flickering deep within his pupils—something far beyond mortal limits.

His name was Takumi.

And he had just awakened in another world.

A System, a Power, and a Purpose

Takumi pushed himself up, rubbing his temples.

"Ugh… I really got isekai'd by a truck. This has to be the stupidest way to die."

Before he could complain further, a mechanical chime echoed within his mind.

[Ding. Civilization System initiating. Binding complete.]

A translucent, futuristic interface unfolded before his eyes.

[Welcome, Host Takumi. Civilization System fully synchronized.]

Takumi blinked. "Civilization… System?"

[Affirmative. Host is granted authority to establish, govern, and evolve a civilization from scratch. Starting resources have been issued. Additional benefits detected: Host possesses the Herrscher of Finality Core. System compatibility confirmed at 100%.]

Takumi froze.

"H‑Herrscher of Finality? As in that end‑of‑everything power? The collapse‑ending Herrscher?"

[Correct. Host has inherited the authority to rewrite causality, manipulate dimensions, and command final energy. To prevent unintentional world destruction, the System will regulate the output of Herrscher power unless conditions are met.]

Takumi swallowed.

So he was a civilization‑building, dimension‑traveling Herrscher.

"…Mom, I finally became a cheat protagonist."

Dimensional City – The Beginning

The interface appeared again.

[Host may designate a location for the establishment of Dimensional City—the foundation of your future empire.]

Takumi surveyed the area. A serene clearing lay not far from where he stood. A river gently flowed nearby. The air was fresh, the land fertile.

"Great spot. Let's build it here."

[Acknowledged. Starting the City Seed deployment.]

A sphere of luminescent blue light appeared in front of him. It then sank into the ground like a droplet of water.

Moments later—

The earth trembled. Lines of silver energy spread like a circuit formation across the ground. Hexagonal holographic platforms rose, expanding outward and forming the base layer of an advanced futuristic city.

Tall metallic pillars emerged like seedlings sprouting from the soil. Energy flowed between them, forming transparent barriers. Roads, foundations, and basic structures materialized one after another.

Takumi watched, breathless.

It was a city of light, technology, and unimaginable potential.

"Dimensional City… is born."

Rimuru, and a New Fate

While admiring the rapidly forming structures, Takumi suddenly heard a cheerful voice.

"Oi! There's a human! Over here!"

A familiar, bouncing blue slime hopped from behind a tree.

Takumi stared.

"…Rimuru?"

The slime's big eyes sparkled. "You know my name? Wait… Did I introduce myself already?"

Takumi quickly covered.

"No, lucky guess! You just look like a Rimuru I once knew."

The slime hopped closer.

"Well, since we met, let me introduce myself! I'm Rimuru—recently reincarnated, kind of lost, also somehow a slime."

Takumi couldn't help but chuckle.

This Rimuru was exactly as he remembered from his previous world's story. But there was a crucial difference:

Rimuru was male in his previous life.

And in this version of the world, he hadn't yet awakened his legendary abilities.

Takumi knelt, extending a hand.

"You look like you could use a companion. Want to come with me? I'm building a city."

Rimuru blinked.

"A city? Out here? In the middle of nowhere?"

In response, Takumi pointed behind him.

Rimuru turned—and his body wobbled.

The futuristic city foundations, glowing circuits, and technology that clearly didn't belong to this world left him stunned.

"U‑u‑u… what kind of cheat do you HAVE!?"

Takumi grinned.

"You'll see."

A Herrscher's Demonstration

A sudden disturbance rustled the forest.

Beasts—large, muscular, fanged creatures—emerged from the shadows, drawn by the city's energy. Their snarls echoed through the clearing.

Rimuru tensed. "Takumi, behind you—!"

Takumi raised a hand calmly.

Golden threads of Finality Energy rippled from his fingers.

Time slowed. Space twisted. Cause and effect converged.

The beasts froze mid‑pounce, their movements locked in the flow of collapsing probability.

Takumi snapped his fingers.

Light washed over the creatures.

They dissolved into harmless particles.

Rimuru's mouth fell open.

"WHAT KIND OF POWER IS THAT!?"

Takumi shrugged.

"A cheat ability I got. Don't worry, I won't use it recklessly."

Rimuru trembled.

"Great Sage, advice! Should I run?"

[Warning: Target Takumi emits world‑ending energy. Probability of survival in combat: 0.00000000001%. Recommendation: Do. Not. Offend.]

Rimuru: "…"

Takumi offered a gentle smile.

"Come on, Rimuru. If we work together, we can build something amazing."

The slime hesitated… then bounced forward.

"Fine! But if your city becomes some tyrant fortress, I'm running away!"

Takumi laughed.

"No worries. I'm planning to build a place where all races can live in peace. A true Dimensional City, connected to endless worlds."

A Promise to the Ages

The City Seed finished its first stage. Steel towers rose. Energy beams illuminated the sky.

A notification chimed.

[Dimensional City – Level 1 complete. Population: 2. Host + Rimuru.]

Rimuru watched the magnificent holographic structures.

"Takumi… just what kind of civilization are you trying to build?"

Takumi stepped forward, gazing over the luminous steel foundations.

"A home," he whispered.

"A place where those with regrets from countless anime worlds can be saved… where they can start over."

He clenched his fist.

"With the Civilization System and the Herrscher of Finality, I'll build a nation that reaches across dimensions."

"A country that changes fate."

"A country no one has ever dreamed of before."

Rimuru's eyes sparkled.

"That sounds… awesome! Count me in!"

Takumi smiled, extending his hand again.

"Welcome to Dimensional City, Rimuru Tempest. Let's create a future no world has ever seen."

The slime hopped onto his palm.

"Yeah! Let's make something incredible together!"

Under the sunlight of a new world, surrounded by the rising glow of futuristic steel, the two began a journey that would reshape not just this world—but countless others.

The birth of Dimensional City had begun.
