Chapter 1 - First Floor

Dungeon! What are they?

The AbyssDungeon, a chasm of darkness and despair, had claimed another victim. The adventuring party, a massive army of hunters, had come seeking to conquer the "GODKILLER" abyss, but they were no match for its horrors. Over 10,000 strong, they had been confident in their power, skills, and numbers. But as they ventured deeper into the abyss, they were met with a horror beyond their wildest imagination.

The monsters were relentless, and the hunters fell one by one. In the end, only a handful remained: the 2 SSS rankers, 4 S+ rankers, 27 S rankers, 37 A+ rankers, 7 A rankers, and 2 B rankers.

Among the survivors were two B ranker siblings, forced to join the expedition by the 2 SSS rankers. They were used as sacrifices, left to die as the SSS rankers made their escape. The siblings, two young sisters, were left alone, waiting for death as the mid-class dungeon bosses closed in on them.

But just as all hope seemed lost, a fog enveloped them, and a voice from within the fog spoke. "Get lost, you beasts. Go play somewhere else."

The mid-class boss was scarred, unable to move as the voice seemed to emanate from all around. The sisters lost consciousness, unaware of what was happening next.

The world was a different place now. Dungeons, once the realm of fantasy and fiction, had become a reality. It had been 149 years since the first dungeon appeared in Northern Ireland, and the world had never been the same.

The initial shock had worn off, and humanity had begun to adapt. Governments had formed departments to deal with the dungeons, and adventurers had become a new breed of hero. But the dungeons remained a mystery, their secrets and purposes still unknown.

In a mid-level home in a rural area in the North West province of South Africa, the family sat in their cozy living room, enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon. The sun streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow over the room. The sound of the TV filled the air, with the news anchor's voice droning on in the background.

Mother was sitting on the couch, knitting a scarf for her Youngest son, who was about to start high school. She looked unimpressed, her eyes raised in a "this-is-ridiculous" expression. "Oh please, dungeons? Really?" she said, shaking her head.

Father was lounging next to her, his eyes half-closed as he watched the sports highlights. He grunted, a sceptical sound. "I don't know, I've heard it all before. This is just some crazy news story, it'll blow over."

Eldestson, with his messy hair and worn-out jeans, was sitting on the floor, typing away on his laptop, having just graduated from college. He looked up from his screen, a sarcastic grin spreading across his face. "Yeah, because nothing says 'credible news source' like footage of people fighting monsters in dungeons."

Youngestson, with his spiky hair and bright eyes, was lounging on the armchair, his eyes fixed intently on the TV. He turned to Eldest son, a excited look on his face. "Dude, I'll become like the people in the anime that you watch bro! I'll be a dungeon master!"

Eldestson raised an eyebrow, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Yea, you be the first hero that dead with out anyone knowing your name."

The two brothers laughed, enjoying their silly joke. But as they laughed, Eldestson got up and walked out of the living room, heading towards the hallway. The others barely noticed, too caught up in their own conversations.

As Eldestson reached the hallway, he stopped dead in his tracks. Floating in the air, surrounded by a faint glow, was a strange object. It looked like a cross between a crystal orb and an ancient relic.

"Guys, you need to come see this," Eldestson called out, his voice filled with wonder.

The family gathered in the hallway, staring at the object in confusion, surprise, and a bit of fear. Mother's eyes widened, and she took a step forward. "Get away from that thing," she said, her voice firm.

But it was too late. The object began to glow brighter, and a bright light enveloped the family. They opened their eyes to find themselves in a place they didn't recognize. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decay, and the sound of monsters echoed through the halls.

The family was separated, each one lost in the vast, cavernous space. They were alone, and they were not in their home anymore.

Fast forward to the present day, year 2350, in the Abyss Dungeon. The two sisters, the B ranker siblings, woke up on a bed made of leaves and tree roots. They looked around, disoriented, to find four monsters standing in front of them.

The monsters were unlike anything they had ever seen before. One of them, a towering tree-like creature, spoke in a calming voice. "It's okay, dear. We don't want to hurt you. You can relax a bit."

The eldest sister stood up, trying to protect her younger sister. She looked around, trying to make sense of their surroundings. Where were they? And what were these creatures?
