At a different courtyard near Xiao Fan's, The Head Elder is sitting outside while drinking tea.
Sitting opposite him is Xiao Han.
He has been monitoring Xiao Fan so he is aware of Cloud's visit since he arrived at Xiao Fan's courtyard.
"What do you think about that new deciple that was the champion of the new disciples competition?" The Head Elder suddenly ask.
Xiao Han is a bit surprised to suddenly hear the Head Elder talk about Cloud.
He doesn't know that Cloud is currently with Xiao Fan, so he thought: 'Why so suddenly?'
"I think that it's a shame. His character and behavior is that of a very talented youth. It's too bad that he doesn't have a spiritual root." Xiao Han commented after sighing.
The head elder nod in agreement to that comment. He also saw how Cloud acted in the competition so he naturally also feel that it's a shame.
"Why the sudden interest master? Are you changing you mind about not taking him as a personal deciple?" Xiao Han asked what he's wondering in his mind.
"Hmm, if he were at least have a Common Grade Spiritual Root, I would've taken him as a personal disciple. But without any Spiritual Root, I'm afraid that he's destined to only be a Qi Gathering Realm Cultivator for life." The Head Elder said with pity.
"Is the difference really that big master? I feel that this boy have the potential to surpass those expectations of yours. Traveling with and watching him throughout, I always feel that he is destined for something big in the future." Xiao Han honestly said what's in his mind.
The Head Elder is surprised when he heard Xiao Han's words. He then ask, "You really think that highly of him? Even after knowing that he doesn't have any Spiritual Root, you still feel the same?"
Xiao Han think for a moment before replying.
"Yes, I still feel the same. I think that not having a spiritual root would be something that he need to overcome. But as far as I know of him, he is someone that would overcome any challenges that's blocking his path." Xiao Han nod then said.
He then also added, "Even the most difficult of challenges, I believe he has the capacity to overcome them. He would even do it in a manner that people wouldn't be able to come up with."
Listening to Xiao Han's words and his confident expression while saying it, it makes the Head Elder think.
He wonders if his decision of not taking Cloud as a deciple, a mistake.
But the experience he had and the knowledge of people that he saw before, that has no Spiritual Root convinced him of his decision.
"In my life, i have seen many people without spiritual root that struggled bitterly to cultivate. Even the most determined of them can only reached the late stage of Qi Gathering Realm in their old age. I have yet once, seen any that has successfully reached even the ninth stage of Qi Gathering Realm." The head elder talk about his experience to Xiao Han.
Xiao Han is listening carefully to his master's words. His experience are too far away from his master's, so he wonders if that's really the case.
But despite that, he still firmly believe in his heart that Cloud is someone that would be able to overcome those limits.
He doesn't know where his confidence comes from but he just can't shake the feeling.
Just then, the Head Elder suddenly knit his brows.
"That brat! How can he suddenly close all doors and windows like someone is peeping. Does he think that I like watching over him like this?" The Head Elder complain.
"If he didn't try to run away before, who wants to keep watching him all the time." He added.
"What's wrong master? Is my brother up to something not good again? I'll go and teach him a lesson!" Xiao Han quickly said after being a little surprised.
The Head Elder suddenly saying that surprised Xiao Han a bit. But he quickly reacted and said that because he knows, his brother always creates troubles.
"It's fine. He's probably just excited that a friend is visiting. Let's talk about your preparations instead." The Head Elder changed the topic.
Hearing that, Xiao Han quickly connects the dots in his mind.
The sudden talk about Cloud and a friend is visiting Xiao Fan, Xiao Han quickly understands.
It seems that Cloud is visiting Xiao Fan. That's why the Head Elder is asking about him.
