"How?" Gwen asked Mu Ning, blinking innocently.
"He was going to help Mother clean up. Now go and wash your teeth." Mu Ning said gently and busied herself.
Hey! At least in front of her kids, she couldn't look like a simp!
Liam walked away, feeling a bit of regret, but he decided not to hold on to it.
'Mu Ning must be more regretful than I am,' he consoled himself.
Meanwhile, the unaware Mu Ning started to make pancakes.
She wanted to change the menu for Liam's sake, but eventually she decided against it.
'He hasn't tasted the pancakes; what if he likes them?'
Turns out she had thought right. When Liam was hit with the sweet fragrance of maple syrup, his mouth watered.
He didn't know if it was his illusion, but he even felt there was a fragrance of vanilla in the air, whetting his appetite.
Within a few bites, he finished the pancakes and stared at the plate speechlessly.
