Chapter 58 A roar, but was it cute?
Razan then attacked her with the Roar of the Black Dragon King. She responded with a Meteor of Flames. Razan saw that his attack not only failed to destroy her but was pushed aside, exploding in the sky next to them.
Razan immediately returned to his half-dragon form and, looking at Sera, thought: "I'm weaker than her. That is, if I stay in my dragon form, I'll lose mobility and become a giant target. I have to take advantage of my ability to devour magic and energy and drag the fight into a war of attrition, using her power to strengthen myself and recover my energy. She'll never want to use her fists against a dragon. After all, the physical bodies of the beings in Hotel Hazbin aren't their strong point generally. It's their energy and strange powers."
He then flew toward Sera, who was a little surprised that he had left the transformation. But she reacted easily and created spears of light that filled the sky to attack him. Razan just used the power of darkness in his claws and began breaking the spears of light with his fists, while the sky exploded with spears of light detonating and dark energy clashing.
Adam and the other angels were on the side watching. At that moment, Lute landed next to Adam without an arm. She then asked:
"Are you okay, sir?"
Adam shouted:
"Look at my appearance, bitch! Do you think I'm okay? That damn lizard left me like this!"
Adam looked at Sera and Razan fighting and said:
"I never imagined that bastard had gotten stronger. How is it possible for him to get stronger in heaven?"
Razan created a barrier of darkness while trying to attack Sera from the other side of the barrier with a roar. Sera noticed and created a giant sword of flame, forcing him back and avoiding the attack. Razan then flapped his wings, sending swords of darkness to clash with the swords of fire, causing several detonations in sequence in the sky.
Sera looked at Razan, dodging his attacks.
"This doesn't make sense. I'm clearly stronger. Why is he managing to fight me?"
She then looked at Razan eating her attacks and his aura getting stronger. Her eyes then widened upon seeing this. Sera said:
"So that's the reason he can kill angels. His attacks contain the power to devour. That is, when he attacks them, they aren't eliminated but rather devoured by his power."
Sera then created a barrier of flames with light around her. But Razan advanced toward the giant barrier of light that was in front of him and bit it. Sera, seeing this, grew serious and thought: "If I can't deal with his devouring power, we'll stay in this war of attrition forever."
She then looked down and had an idea.
At that moment, in the city, Loona and the others, who saw Sera arrive, were watching her fight with Razan in shock. After all, it's no surprise she defeats Adam — after all, he did that before.
Valentino said:
"How is this possible? How does he have power to fight her? The first time, he had a hell of a job just fighting Adam."
Velvette, who was recording the fight, said:
"Well, maybe it's that after he built this city, he must have made several contracts and gotten stronger. Right? It's the only reason I can think of."
Loona looked at Razan fighting, as the only one who knows his secret. Unlike him, he isn't like anyone in hell, whose power is fixed and can't grow without a very, very special way — or maybe it doesn't even exist anymore. Razan is different. As long as there's war, as long as he fights, he'll get stronger.
Charlie looked at the fight with an anxious face. Vaggie, seeing this, asked:
"Don't you want to ask your dad to help him?"
Charlie, without taking her eyes off the fight, answered smiling:
"It might not seem like it when you only saw him messing around with me and being a lazy nerd, but he's a proud dragon, crazy about fighting. He doesn't want help from anyone, especially not from my dad, whom he sees as a target to surpass."
Vaggie said surprised:
"What? He wants to kill your dad?"
Because Vaggie was calm saying this, Charlie said calmly:
"He doesn't want to kill my dad. He just wants to challenge him to a man-to-man fight when he gets stronger and defeat him to prove he surpassed him."
Vaggie said confused:
"But why does he want to do something so laborious and dangerous like challenging the king of hell to a fight?"
Loona, hearing this, smiled and answered:
"Because he's the strongest and every man is obsessed with that title of being the strongest."
Carmilla, who was listening, said surprised:
"Just for that idiotic reason?"
Valentino said:
"She's right. He must want to be the new king if he pulls it off. It's natural."
Joe, hearing this, couldn't hold it and started laughing. Everyone then looked at him. Joe looked at them without fear and said:
"Yes, that's what you guys would do if you could: defeat the king of hell."
Joe looked at Razan in the sky, smiling like crazy while fighting happily.
"But for my lord, the title 'the strongest' is the only thing he wants for one sole reason: because that title is way too cool."
Everyone was shocked to hear this, except Loona and Charlie.
Loona looked at her idiot fighting and thought: "Yes, that's all this idiot of mine wants: a cool title to show off when he goes out."
Charlie smiled hearing this. Vaggie was shocked hearing this — even after talking with them for so long that night, she got to know Razan and Loona more than in the last three years.
They then turned their gaze back to the fight.
Sera then looked at Razan and decided. Even if she thinks the chance of this plan working is low — because for this plan to work he needs to be a certain type of person —, he is the very concept of war and destruction, but it's the only way to break the impasse.
She then used all her strength to create a giant ball of light that looked like a sun, covering the entire Pride Ring.
Razan looked at this attack in shock. He then shouted:
"Sera, have you gone crazy? If this attack falls, the whole ring will cease to exist!"
Sera said:
"Then you just have to defend it head-on and not let it fall."
Razan, hearing this, realized her plan right away and said:
"So your plan is to force me to take this attack head-on so I die from overload, breaking our current impasse, right?"
Razan looked at her with his golden dragon eyes and said:
"How do you know I'll take this attack head-on to protect the people? This is hell, there's no loyalty."
Sera said:
"I don't know, but I don't lose anything trying."
She then released the attack.
Everyone in the Pride Ring and even from other rings could see this giant attack.
In the city, Loona, Charlie and the others saw the giant attack approaching the ground.
Velvette shouted:
"That angel bitch has gone crazy! She wants to go to war with hell using an attack like this!"
Valentino said:
"We'd better get out of here."
At that moment, Lucifer appeared.
Charlie, seeing her dad appear out of nowhere, said:
"Dad, what are you doing here?"
Lucifer looked at Charlie and said excitedly:
"Hi, little pest! But I had to come. After all, if the fight continues, they'll destroy the entire Pride Ring and cause great damage to hell."
Carmilla said:
"Look what that is in the sky!"
Everyone looked and saw Razan standing in front of the attack.
At that moment, Razan looked at this giant attack that threatened to fall on his head. He let out a bitter smile: "I really want to give some spanks on this seraphim's butt to educate her."
He then shook his head, removed the sadness and looked seriously at the attack and said:
"System, is there anything I can do to stop this attack?"
System said:
"There is, but it's very risky and you'll feel goddamn awful pain every second of the process."
Razan said:
"Tell me the plan first."
System:
"Simple: you're going to be an idiot on Natsu's level. You're going to go into the middle of that attack and devour from inside. While to not explode or get hurt too much and become vulnerable, you're going to use that energy to activate your Light and Darkness Dragon King mode."
Razan said:
"Tell me more… didn't Natsu suffer too much when he tried this the first time?"
System:
"Yes. And since you can devour everything, this makes it possible. Devour her light to activate this mode. So, are you going to try?"
Razan fell silent.
From the ground, everyone saw Razan stay still and quiet in front of the attack without intention to move.
Adam, seeing this, said:
"Just as I thought, he's a coward. Typical of demons to be thinking about which is the best place to run."
Lute said angrily:
"Finally Lady Sera will end this plague."
Sera also looked at Razan attentively, seeing him standing in front of her attack.
Charlie said:
"Come on, dad! Save him already!"
Lucifer said:
"Since it's a request from my little girl, I'll do it now."
Vaggie said:
"Wait, he's doing something."
Everyone then looked at the sky. They then saw him raise his hand with the thumb and index finger extended, while the other fingers remain closed.
Loona looked at this scene in shock. She had a flashback:
Razan was in front of the subordinates with her and Charlie.
Loona looked at Razan and said:
"Why did you idiot call us here today? We're busy."
Razan smiled and said:
"You know, I was thinking about a detail. Usually I fight in the sky, far from everyone. And if something happens or the situation is bad and I want to say something, I won't be able to. So that's why I came up with a signal."
He then raised his hand and made an L with his hand.
"See this signal? It means that even if I can't see you... no matter how far you are... I'll always be watching over you."
Loona and the others fell silent.
Loona then looked at him and said:
"You nerdy dragon, what anime did you get such a cheesy signal from?"
Razan smiled and said:
"I didn't get it. This signal has a connection with my power, so I wanted to use it."
Loona, in the present, opened her eyes and raised her hand and made the signal.
Joe, Charlie, Jon, David in the barrier — all of Razan's subordinates raised their hands and made the signal.
Adam looked at this idiot and said:
"These dumb demons forgot that to surrender you need to raise both hands."
Lute said:
"It doesn't matter, sir. They'll die the same way."
Razan, looking at them repeating the signal, smiled and exploded at high speed toward the attack. He entered inside the attack.
Inside, he didn't waste time and started devouring.
Down below, Velvette approached Loona and said:
"Well, looks like your boyfriend there killed himself. Meaning now you're single. Don't you want me to introduce someone to you?"
She then started laughing. Loona ignored and started counting:
"Ten... nine... eight..."
Charlie also started counting along:
"Seven... six... five..."
Loona said:
"Four... three... two... one!"
At that moment, all of hell heard a roar and the ball of light began to shrink rapidly.
Inside the ball of light, Razan felt his body burn and heat up while two different energies were fighting for dominance of his body.
Razan thought: "Damn, if I had more percentage, I wouldn't be feeling this pain. Absorbing this energy would be so easy."
He then brought his head to his chest: "I'm not going to die in this shit place."
He then used all his strength to suck the energy harder.
After a while, he finally let out a roar while the ball of light exploded, but without energy — it just looked like fireworks in the sky.
But no one was looking at that. They were in shock looking at Razan, who one part of the body had dense dark energy with the scales and wings exuding darkness. On the other side of the body, his scales were golden with light energy shining strong and his wings and claws all golden.
Everyone looked in shock at Razan, who one part of the body looked like a demon and the other part looked like an angel.
Lucifer, on the ground, looked at this in incredulous shock:
"How is it possible for demonic and angelic power to exist?"
Charlie looked with shining eyes and said:
"It's so cool!"
Vaggie, looking at this, said:
"What the hell, someone tell him we're not in a cartoon for him to pull these transformations."
Loona, hearing this, smiled and said:
"Well, it's useless. This idiot loves a cool transformation. Don't look at his serious face, but I bet he's holding back from jumping with joy."
Adam looked at Razan in this form and said angrily:
"What the hell is this? What the fuck are you doing? Do you think this turned into a hero movie where you pull a power out of nowhere?"
Razan finally looked at them. He then disappeared from where he was and appeared in front of Adam. Before he reacted, Razan hit a strong punch in his face, throwing him to the ground.
Razan looked at him and said:
"Stop being noisy, annoying thing."
Lute was shocked by Razan's appearance, but Razan passed by her. He then looked at Sera and said:
"This is my new transformation. I called it Sacred Dragon of Darkness. What did you think?"
Sera looked at him seriously and said:
"I was right. You are an anomaly. You managed to mix the sacred power that no demon should touch. Staying in this profane form... die!"
She then threw a spear of light, but before she could, Razan appeared in front of her and gave a kick with the two energies mixed, causing a sonic boom too loud while Sera was dragged through the sky by the blow.
Razan then appeared above her and opened his mouth and released the Roar of the Sacred Dragon of Darkness.
Sera turned upward and created a shield of light and fire, but the attack hit her and pushed her down. Sera endured the roar while being pushed toward the ground. She then hit her back on the ground, creating a giant crater, while part of Razan's roar finally broke the shield, hit her full force, causing an explosion and hurting her a lot.
Razan then landed in front of Sera, who got up and looked at him. She then said:
"Come on, finish me already."
She then stared at him without flinching.
Razan, seeing this, scratched his head and thought: "If I kill you, you crazy woman, I'll be declaring war on the entire heaven. Besides, if I kill or torture you, it's confirmed to you that everything you think about me is right and that the only wrong thing you did was not having power to defeat me."
Razan sighed. He then made his decision and went to her.
Sera looked at him and said with a serious face:
"So you're finally going to act, demon. Be quick."
Razan then arrived in front of her. Razan then kissed her cheek and said smiling:
"Well, this was your punishment. Don't do it again, understood?"
Sera was in shock looking at him, not knowing how to react. She then turned red from anger, shame, indignation, not knowing how to react.
Razan then turned and left.
Sera finally regained a bit of sanity and shouted:
"Stop there, demon! Why did you spare me? I don't need your pity!"
Razan, looking at her, said:
"Because I'm a dragon grrr-rrr-rrr... rawr
He then let out a cute growl toward her, but he couldn't hold his own joke and laughed.
Sera looked at him in shock laughing.
"Sera, you..."
Razan looked at her and said:
"This fight is over. Take your angels and leave. If you help in time, maybe you can save the idiot Adam."
He then looked at her one last time and gave a smile and a wink and said:
"Your smell is really good. I liked it. It reminds me of the sun."
He then flew toward the city while thinking: "When I tell Loona what I did, she'll kill me. Even if it was to not cause a war, I'm gonna get beaten up a lot."
Sera looked at him going away, not knowing what to do, just feeling a bunch of strange feelings in her heart.
