Chapter 55 – A Conversation Before the Fight and the Reason
The night sky over the city had turned ominous, dark clouds swirling unnaturally as the first hints of heavenly light pierced through. The tension in the air was thick as Razan looked at Adam hovering high in the sky, flanked by his army of exorcists, their golden masks gleaming coldly under the moonlight.
He then entered his half-dragon transformation, scales rippling across his skin as power surged through him, the ground below trembling slightly from the release.
He then looked at Loona seriously and said:
— Gather Joe, Jon, Carla, David, and the others. Clear order for highest alert level: kill anyone who causes trouble. Right now I don't have time to deal with idiots.
Loona looked at Razan and said:
— Yes. Anything else?
He said:
— Tell David to be careful with the barriers so they don't break from the shockwaves in the fight.
Charlie, seeing this with wide eyes full of worry, said:
— Is there nothing we can do?
Razan messed up her hair affectionately and said:
— Just root for me, okay? That's enough. I know you don't like fighting, so you don't need to force yourself into it.
He then looked at Vaggie and said:
— Well, Vaggie, I'm counting on you to take care of this cheerful idiot.
Vaggie looked at him and said with a serious face:
— You can count on it. I'll take care of her.
They then headed toward Adam and the angels while breaking the sound barrier, the sonic boom echoing across the city like thunder, rattling windows and sending ripples through the streets below.
Loona then started organizing the things Razan asked for, her expression focused and determined as the party chaos faded into urgent preparation.
She then sent for David, Joe, and Jon.
The others looked at serious Loona, the festive atmosphere shifting to one of readiness.
Beelzebub approached and said casually:
— Come on, let's enjoy your birthday. He's strong. He can handle this alone.
Loona looked at her seriously and said firmly:
— He can handle this alone, yes, but he doesn't need to because he's not and never will be alone.
Beelzebub looked at Loona — this was the first time since she met her that she saw her so serious, the usual sarcasm replaced by unyielding resolve.
Beelzebub smiled and said:
— Looks like you two have a habit of turning the virtue of love into a sin, right?
Loona looked at her and said:
— That doesn't matter now.
At that moment David arrived and knelt respectfully and said:
— Miss, I'm here. I came as fast as I could.
The others also arrived at that instant.
Loona looked at him with her serious face and said:
— Well, now I'm going to pass on his instructions. Understood?
They shouted in unison:
— Yes, ma'am!
Loona said:
— David, you and your squad are responsible for maintaining the barrier and not letting the shockwaves from the fight affect the city. Understood?
David said:
— Yes, ma'am. I won't fail in my task.
He then disappeared at high speed to fulfill his mission.
She then looked at them and said:
— Jon, Joe, you're going to take care of the city and send your squad out. If anyone decides to joke around or try something funny right now, you have permission to kill on the spot.
Joe said:
— Yes, ma'am. We'll do it.
Loona looked at the others and said:
— The rest of you stay on standby in case we need your help.
While Loona coordinated the entire city to fulfill her orders, the streets below buzzing with hurried movements as demons prepared defenses, Razan finally arrived in the sky facing Adam.
Razan looked at Adam and Lute and the army of angels behind, their wings beating in formation.
He then sighed and said with a tired face:
— Why are you here, Adam? This isn't extermination time yet, right?
Adam said arrogantly:
— You fucker, I go where I want when I want.
Razan said:
— You really broke my whole perception of Adam, the father of humanity.
Adam laughed mockingly and said:
— And what was a shit demon like you expecting?
Razan answered calmly:
— I was expecting the best of humanity: kindness, courage, humility, and conviction. After all, that's what you expect from the father of humanity, not something like you who looks like a pimp from a brothel.
Adam shouted furiously:
— Who did you call a pimp, you shit demon?!
Lute said coldly:
— We're not talking anymore, sir. Let's just kill him.
Razan, seeing Adam's reaction, thought:
Why can't you be like the Adam from Shumatsu no Valkyrie?
Razan then prepared to fight, exploding his entire aura that pushed many angels away, the force creating gusts that scattered clouds.
He then looked at Adam and said:
— So what's the reason you're attacking me today after so long?
Adam said:
— I didn't want to talk, but I'll let you know why you're dying. After our first fight, Heaven found out there's an anomaly like you who can hurt angels. After seeing you creating a city and gathering sinners, my manager Sera finally let me get rid of your anomaly for good.
Razan, hearing this, thought:
So that's why it took Heaven so long to react to the fact I can hurt angels. Sera was seeing if it was worth killing me and it seems yes. But what can you do? Most angels in Heaven aren't that great, except for Emily's cute thing.
Adam said:
— Well, now that you know, are you ready to die?
Razan looked at him and said:
— You couldn't kill me when I was younger and your chances with my growth only decreased. But try your luck.
