Just as I was about to discuss the next step of the plan, our office door was pushed open. It was Steven Davis. This guy angrily pushed the door open and approached me, lowering his voice to demand, "Give me an explanation."
I raised an eyebrow, looking at him askance, "Explanation for what?"
"Everything was fine. This joint operation was originally supposed to be coordinated with the special police. Why, midway, did you not inform our department and instead collaborate with the detectives?" Steven angrily questioned.
I said, "I thought you might be busy with the casino case, so I didn't notify your department about the port operation and switched to detectives instead."
