----------------------------------------------------

Alastor was in the War room, his top commanders had left with his orders as the current army was mobilizing.

Now only Alastor and Alleria were in there.

"I'm sorry for dragging you into this again" Alastor sighed as he looked at Alleria apologetically.

Alleria knew what he was talking about, about how they had just returned to the city and yet they would be off to another battlefield in a few days at most.

"Hey none of that." Alleria caressed his cheek. "I can hardly blame you for that, I would do the same if it was Quel'thalas also don't forget conflict isn't new to me, if anything I can also get some glory fighting alongside you."

Alastor couldn't stop himself from laughing but he was relieved when he didn't sense any dissatisfaction from soon to be High elf wife.

But then Alleria looked down at the table and picked up a tube with a strange purple liquid in it. She had seen Alastor give it to one of his officers to pass it on to Mathias Shaw.

"What is this? some sort of combat drug?"

"It's a little something I made regarding the dark plague up north" Alastor answered her in his normal tones as he was going through a datapad.

Alleria nodded before looking at him incredulously.

"You've already found a cure!?"

"Oh I wish I did" Alastor shook his head a bit ruefully.

"The serum you see before you would at most suppress the plague in the bodies of the infected, It was a temporary measure so such people could be safely quarantined without dying and turning, granted if they took regular doses of it"

"I hate to admit it but whoever made this magical disease was a genius, the only reason a cure hasn't been found is two-fold and it pertains to the Plague's structure and it's nature as a Warp made disease."

"Both sides causes it to mutate simultaneously if you only try to use either science or magic to solve it then it will not work, instead the key was to use a scientifically made cure while using magic simultaneously to have it adapt to the disease."

Alleria looked at her lover incredulously even after knowing him for years, she still sometimes wondered how he could just do something amazing and treat it like he it was something simple.

"Alastor even still this is a great discovery! Just with this safeguarding infected civilians would be much easier which would be a great help in the north of Arda."

"Haha don't mention it, but since I already made this I can say with certainty that as soon as I have time I would start on a variant of it that could be used as a cure."

Alleria nodded at that knowing for the moment Alastor would put his attention on facing the Orks after they arrive at Fort Clover but at least this would mean the situation in regards to the plague would at least be hopefully contained.

----------------------------------------------------------

Alastor in the days leading up to the army's mobilization had finally decided to bring out his personally made arsenal of weapons and armaments to equip them instead of the standard armaments.

Alastor had indeed secretly stockpiled a large amount of his created weapons through the use of trusted contacts in the Stormwind Science Guild and now he was finally bringing them out.

The first thing he had replaced were the standard weapons the Stormwind soldiers possessed starting with their energy rifles and had it replaced with his VX-1 Magnetic-plasma rifle.

Or in simple terms the Helios rifle.

A rifle that uses refined magnetic principles to launch stabilized plasma bolts with far less recoil and danger as well as being able to be maintained by normal soldiers as well.

The firing mode could also be adjusted in regards to the type of enemy being faced, with rapid fire for infantry and Charged bolts for armoured units.

Some of the other weapons included:-

The Storm Carbines for Urban fighting and it's gyro-stabilized ammo coming in different varieties from standard bullets, to explosive rounds, Stun rounds etc.

The ALA (Astraeus Linear Accelerator) Cannon that fired projectiles at the very least in hyper sonic velocities at long range.

This heavy infantry weapon was made for heavy armoured enemies and could be both mounted on vehicles or operated separately by two infantry men, one for firing and the other for aiming.

The Phobos-pattern Projector that when activated emits energy interference burst that disrupts power fields, localized shields and even warp energy making it effective against Psykers/Mages as well.

Along with these were vehicles, air-craft, side-arms, close quarter weapons like monomolecular combat knives with specialized ones Elite units like Knights for example HF power swords like his own sword, Dawn.

Alastor had different designs too but he didn't or rather couldn't have them equipped to his army due to there being not enough time for the different units to get used to using them as they were intended to.

In fact most of the new weapons he had the soldiers equipped had operations that were not much different from their own standard gear allowing them to very quickly get used to them.

As for other assets like Vehicles, Tanks, Aircrafts they were more advanced and efficient versions of the ones already in service and not his personal made designs, but he had to make due.

All in all despite that his army was muchbetter equipped than before.

The Soldiers were understandably excited seeing these new weapons they were being provided by their commanding general, already knowing full well his genius when it came to technology.

Their excitement only grew as they tested out their new "toys" and many of them found themselves suddenly very eager to test it out on the Greenskins.

The Officers on the other hand seeing just how armed to the teeth their prince and general had made the army wondered if this was not a bit overkill.

Alastor had only one thing to say to that.

"Better to have firepower and not need it, than to need it and not have it."

Especially when it comes to Orks.

Finally the day came when all logistics and preparations were completed as the army started their march from Stormwind City to Fort Clover

-----------------------------------------------

There were 3 main routes to leave and enter the Savage Lands, in the north through the Red ridge mountains famously used by Orks in the past to attack northern kingdoms.

In the south-western route leading Orks in constant fights against Beastkin from Stranglethorn Vale than humans.

And finally in the west, the largest and most direct route to reach the Kingdom of Stormwind and the one route most frequented by Ork Warbands.

Each Route had a fortress built in their path to defend against Ork attacks and to a point keep the green tide confined to the Savage Lands.

Fort Clover was the fortress that defended the western route and the most frequented attack fort amongst the three, but also the strongest one.

It's very walls had witnessed too many bloody and violent battles to count were human will met the brutality of the Orks.

After 18 days of travel Alastor and his army had reached the massive fortress.

Alastor seated on a Jetbike with Alleria behind him signalled for one of his subordinate commanders to contact the fort's command and have them open the gates.

When the massive gates groaned open a group of people rushed out towards them and approached Alastor as they saluted.

It was the brunette woman in front who spoke. "Prince Alastor thank the light you are here! I'm Brigadier Lorretta, the one currently in command of Fort Clover."

Alastor frowned suddenly getting a bad vibe especially since the one who came to greet him wasn't Anduin or the Fort's original General.

"Well met Brigadier, what's the situation? and why hasn't Lord Anduin to greet me instead?"

Alastor and Alleria walked with her inside as his army also entered the Fort.

"That.....my prince you will not like this"

------------------------------------------------

Alastor burst into the medical room seeing a sight he thought he would never see.

There in the bed in front of him bandaged and unconscious while being wired to a medical machine was his first mentor and surrogate uncle Anduin Lothar.

Surrounding him was a group of doctors as well as a Priest of the light that almost jumped in fright as they saw Alastor barrel in.

Alastor hesitantly approached the bed seeing Anduin unconscious and injured like this shook him to his core, behind him came Loretta and Alleria.

"How...How did this happen!?" Alastor asked with simmering rage as he swore that once he got his hands the bastard that did this he would tear them limb from limb!

Thankfully Loretta kept her composure and answered him.

"My prince Lord Anduin had led us for quite a while against the Greenskin hordes and personally slew a significant number of Warbosses but when the situation escalated and the number of Orks attacking the Fort increased it had put a lot of pressure on the Fort."

"Lord Anduin was worried we might be forced into a attrition war before the arrival of reinforcements so he made a plan for a decapitation strike against the Leading Warboss of this WAAAGHH. Who we believe is Borgut Facebeater."

Alastor recognized that name it was the name of perhaps the most notorious Black Orc Warboss after Grimgor's disappearance.

Normally a commander should not be the one leading a decapitation strike but the thing was that Anduin was perhaps the only one available who could had the highest chance of killing him.

Alastor knew very well just how stupidly skilled of a warrior his surrogate uncle was, his position as Knight Champion of Stormwind and title as the Lion of Azeroth were well earned.

The man was widely considered the greatest Knight and the strongest warrior with famous heroes like King Thoras and even Uther Lightbringer humbly accepting he was the pinnacle of a human warrior alive.

But it was also for that reason that Alastor couldn't help but be a bit confused, as skilled with a sword Anduin was he had a similar strategic genius.

If he decided on a decapitation strike then he would have considered all variables to have a good chance in killing Borgut, he couldn't help but get the feeling there was something he was missing.

And it wasn't only him as Alleria who stood silently behind also frowned. 'Something isn't adding up'

But knowing he would likely only get the answers from Anduin when he wakes up he turned to Loretta.

"Brigadier! where is the commanding general at this moment."

With Anduin out of commission best thing he could do was talk to Fort Clover's official commander before Anduin took command and the man served as his second in command.

"He's dead my prince"

"What? How!?"

Loretta couldn't meet his eyes as she said with shame.

"As Lord Anduin had left with the decapitation team, Lord Castor and his general staff coordinated the forces behind the second defensive line when a large contingent of Ork Stormboyz bypassed a gap in the first line to attack the second line"

"But it ended up being nothing but a distraction as our men were focused on killing the Stormboyz, a team of Ork Kommandoz made a beeline at the General Castor's location and detonated high yield explosives along with themselves."

"The General's body was incinerated along with many of the general staff officers, the others survived but were in similar condition as Lord Anduin."

"Fucking hell!" Alastor cursed aloud as he realized the situation wasn't just complicated in Fort Clover it was a whole dumpster fire!

In fact it made sense why the morale of the soldiers in the Fortress seemed so low thankfully seeing him arrive had done wonders for the morale.

Even more when he brought an army, supplies and other essential resources.

His transhuman brain already started working on measures to address the situation.

"Loretta bring me to the war room! The rest of you continue with your duties and I want Anduin as well as the General officers up and about as soon as possible"

"Yes Sir!" All the people regardless of rank saluted Alastor, they were also relieved not only to have the chain of command restored but for their commander to be their reliable prince.

Alleria came beside him as they walked towards the war room. "You might have your hands full but don't you find the situation a bit-"

"Strange? I do, there's something I'm missing here or rather something I don't know, It looks like I will have to think on my feet."

"That's good then, you might not know it but you're good at making plans on the fly and improvising on the fly."

"Hopefully I can do the same here, something tells me this will be a lot more complicated than the Beastkin."

Suddenly remembering something Alastor looked at Loretta who was leading them.

"Oh and Loretta from now on you're Major General."

"Understood my lord---!! Pardon!?"
