Gabriel stood there to the sidelines as he listened to Mr Amon telling the students how to use their magical powers, soon enough everyone started training and Mr Amon would fix the posture and tell them how to do the spell properly, replicating the spell for them to use, Astoria, Arron, Alexander, Tristan, and Juniper were all together training, Gabriel glanced at Merrygold and saw her use of her magic type is masterful, could be better but surprisingly good at her age. A tug, a simple tug on Gabriel's sleeve and he turned around to see Astoria's simple but warm smile,

She waits patiently for his answer,

She jokes with him, and gets into the stance she needs to do for the spell, suddenly Mr Amon explains that it is not necessary to get into a stance to do the spell but it gives you overall more control and flexibility of where the spell is directed to,with this new knowledge everyone is trying to cast a spell without using a stance most are failing and Alexander and Merrygold seem to be the closest to it,

She looks a bit confused but trusts him, and channels her magic again, breathing in and holding it for a few seconds then exhaling calmly, her magic flows in her body like her own blood, and then she releases the same attack, but it's much larger and it's sharper, the spikes instead of staying impaled to the ground they are around her emitting a blue fluorescent aura around her,

She says with a happy expression she soon cancles the spell still excited from what just happend and goes back to the others to train, meanwhile Merrygold just stands there fierce in presence and fierce in combact she just didn't want to train so she approaches Gabriel,

Merrygold doesn't object on how hard he is going to try, maintaing her fierce gaze and psoture, soon enough they walk into the sparring arena, as they walk in there are alot more people sparring with each other in smaller rings, using their magic to evade and reflect or deal attacks, thus lots of light is made, the Human Headmaster, Mr Hermes, has managed to use his fracture magic to fracture the glass to darken it with his darkening magic, he can fracture the glass in a way when darkened no light can escape it's designed colour, Merrygold approaches the headmaster curious about his magic,
Sir, may i get to know about your magic?
Mr. Hermes looks up with a welcoming gaze, he has a long white beard, a fraile body like a old man, and a long coat covering his whole body,

He asks gently and she nods quietly,

Basically, fracture magic can break anything it touches but in rare occasions powerful magician can break even the air making the enimies vision really bad or just send them to another realm but that's a really hard thing to do, and darkening magic just makes everything more dark, reffering to it's name.
Merygold asks
What's the purpose of darkening magic?
He speaks up with calm and patience,
Darkening magic can blind your opponents making the ground and even air more dark rendering their vision useless.
Merrygold nods, and Alexander asks,

Merrygold follows Alexander into one of the bigger sparring chambers,

Merry gold uses her magic to summon a earth spike behind Alexander which he dodges easily resonding by summoning pillars of dark flames which stun Merrygold for a bit but she rexovers quickly locating his position and sending a barage of small earth spikes towards him which he dodges easily again but what he didn't expect the spikes surround him and slowly comproess into a ball trapping him inside not enough to crush him but enough to imobalise him,

She starts to walk closer but the enclosure she made starts to melt away and Alexander gets out a bit bloddied but mostly fine, he appears behind Merrygold counjouring a small dark flame in his hand and using to burn her arm a bit, which she staggers back from, he summons dark flames behind her solidifying them to stop her from moving and then points a sharp needle to her neck made out of solid dark flame,
I win, and yes indeed we had a glamourous duel.
Merrygold surrenders puttingbher hands up admitting defeat, and now she goes back to training with the others, even though Fegend and Astoria consider her friends she thinks she doesn't have any friends at the academy yet, but soon enough she will find out something she didnt expect.
