After being bullied again by the Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One, Zod reflected hard and concluded that he was still too weak.
If he were strong enough… he still wouldn't be able to beat her.
After all, this version of the Ancient One had the Time Stone. If you annoyed her, she could just toss you into a time loop. Zod would probably go insane.
But Zod really did manage to figure out something that could massively boost his power.
Electromagnetism!
His energy-absorption ability could convert his internal energy into electromagnetic force. In the hands of someone like Zod, who was proficient in quantum physics and applied mathematics, the things electromagnetism could do were endless.
For example: using electromagnetic force to manipulate cells and modify DNA, control atoms and rearrange fundamental particles, even attach his consciousness to an electromagnetic field, discard the flesh, and become a quantum lifeform…
A scientific version of God!
Electromagnetism was a lever. It could pry at matter, energy, time, and space across the universe at will, an ability so broken it was basically a bug.
Immortality, regenerating from a single drop of blood, tanking a nuclear blast, all of that was child's play. Covering space to reverse time, deriving a unified field, reenacting earth, fire, water, and wind, that was the true way to use electromagnetic force.
On top of that, Zod also had Kryptonian super senses!
He naturally possessed atom-level observation and control. Countless magnetic field lines, like they truly existed, floated around his body.
Zod lightly plucked one magnetic line.
A vibranium target in the distance was yanked straight toward him by powerful magnetic force.
He manipulated the magnetic field lines in his hand and tore it into four or five pieces. With crackling current and sparks flying, the vibranium target was seized by an invisible force and violently ripped apart.
On the ground and in the sky, Zod had never felt electromagnetic force so dense and so powerful. Even the subtlest magnetic fields were detected by him. Even the strongest geomagnetism could be influenced. Everything between heaven and earth was replaced by formulas and numbers as Zod continued diving deeper into the domain of electromagnetism.
Electromagnetism affected all matter. It controlled atoms, penetrated into the atom itself, revealing the secret of conversion between mass and energy.
At Kamar-Taj, the Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One, sighed. This was one of the worst futures she had seen. But if she didn't intervene to save Venom and maintain the timeline, even worse things would happen. At least for now, Zod had only grasped electromagnetism. He still hadn't discovered gravity.
Then, in the next moment, Zod Heath became a master of gravity. Magnetism and gravity were originally one, or rather, intertwined. There was no reason someone who could control electromagnetism couldn't control gravity.
The Ancient One was surprised. The development of the future had already deviated from what she had seen. Zod Heath had actually mastered electromagnetism and gravity this quickly. Luckily, he was still too weak to fully unleash…
Before her thoughts even finished, the Ancient One saw Zod twist Earth's gravitational field and magnetic force, binding the sunlight falling onto Earth together and illuminating the area around him. Under that sunlight, Zod rapidly grew stronger.
Ancient One: …
Zod Heath's ability to infer and apply was too terrifying. The Ancient One almost wondered if she should kick Stephen Strange out and let Zod become the Sorcerer Supreme instead.
Zod thought taking Riot away would break the future, but it turned out that was a choice the Ancient One had already seen through the future. Then Black Queen told Zod that before the Life Foundation filed for bankruptcy, they launched a rocket again. Fortunately, the reckless Venom and Eddie stopped it.
Zod watched the video. Drake, wearing a silver symbiote, was fighting Eddie, who wore Venom. The two were beating each other bloody, all the way into the streets of San Francisco. The San Francisco police only dared to watch. None of them dared to step in.
"What's going on? Where did another symbiote come from?"
Zod couldn't believe it. Riot and Lasher were with him. Agony was dead. Venom was with Eddie. So where did this silver symbiote come from?
Black Queen used the on-site surveillance and gave the answer.
That silver symbiote was actually Riot's son. Nobody knew when Riot had laid an egg. They only knew that while Drake was liquidating assets, he was parasitized by that symbiote. After gaining power, Drake naturally broke free of the psychic suggestion Zod had planted in him. Symbiotes had strong resistance in that area.
This silver symbiote was named "Rend."
Watching Rend completely dominate Venom, Zod realized Rend was even stronger than Riot.
Drake, wearing Rend, displayed power and speed beyond Riot's, beating Venom until Venom couldn't fight back at all.
Venom was helpless too. Not being able to beat the dad was one thing, but not even being able to beat the son?
Even Eddie couldn't stand it anymore.
"Venom, come on! Fine, you can't beat Riot, but this is Riot's son. You can't beat him either?"
"Shut up, Eddie!" Venom roared, only to get smashed into the ground again by Rend, teeth flying.
"You actually stopped me, traitor. I'm going to kill you right now!"
Rend's skin, a silver metallic color, was extremely hard, completely different from other symbiotes.
Against Rend, Venom was actually brave, at least much braver than he'd been against Riot.
Right then, two red laser-like beams struck Rend, slicing it cleanly in half at the waist.
Venom and Rend both froze. The difference was that Rend felt intense pain.
Then they saw Zod in the Dark Knight armor.
"It's you again, Zod Heath!"
Rend's face split open, revealing Drake inside as he roared at Zod.
Zod couldn't be bothered with him. The eight blade-like floating cannons behind him detached and hovered at his back, then unleashed rapid-fire plasma cannon shots.
Like artillery saturating the area, the hovering Zod poured a massive barrage of plasma rounds down onto the two symbiotes below. Don't be fooled by how weak these looked in Predator films. After Zod added magnetic and gravitational constraints so the plasma wouldn't disperse so badly, the rounds displayed terrifying destructive power.
Boom boom boom boom boom boom!
San Francisco police and civilians stared, dumbstruck, at a scene of nonstop bombardment that only a full tank battalion could produce. Even dozens of tanks would probably have been blown into scrap.
After the explosions, Venom and Rend still weren't dead. Zod had only blown them half to death, and also prevented them from laying eggs again or escaping.
Next, Zod controlled high-energy electromagnetic waves, heating the cell structures inside them, like a microwave oven.
Venom and Rend were tortured until they teetered between life and death. They curled into a ball, unable to resist at all.
Even so, Zod only took Rend with him. Venom probably wouldn't lay eggs like Riot did, right? Anyway, with the Ancient One around, he could let her deal with it.
