Chapter 1 - rebirth

I waited in the alley for the guys who usually beat me up for money, and I watched and waited until I saw them. All four of them were there. They bullied me, so I thought it might be time to get it back in blood. I pulled my dad's gun from my bag and pulled my hoodie up, and I threw a water bottle at Jake's head, the leader of the group, and it hit him hard. He looked pissed and ran after me, which made his friends follow. He screamed, "Hey, you bastard, get back here!"

I smiled under my mask as he was running straight into my trap, and as we got to the dead end, I stopped running and turned. He didn't. He kept running like I expected, and I pulled the gun up and let one shot ring out. I looked in curiosity as the blood poured out of his mouth and chest, and his friends screamed. I let two more shots ring, and they hit their targets.

The last one screamed and looked at me as she tripped over her own feet. I walked up to her. She never did me wrong. She did my sister wrong, but I never cared. I walked past her, not even caring to take revenge for my sister. If I took my own, she could too. She screamed for some reason, and that annoyed me, so I stopped in my tracks and looked dead at her and said, "Shut up."

She yelled, and I shot her — too damn loud. I rubbed my ears and continued to walk, and I saw people running, so I took off, trying not to feel too confident. I pulled my mask down, and the hood fell off my head. I ran and threw the gun behind my mom's favorite restaurant to come back and get later.

As I ran, I saw cop cars — about six of them, or maybe seven. I didn't care to get the best look possible. But apparently fate thought I was cruel. But wasn't it cruel to drop a plane into me as I ran? Huh, fate? Never mind that. As I said, a plane crashed into me, and my last thought was, What a waste of my time, and then darkness.

I awoke on a dark cloud, and a male figure watched me with interest and spoke: "Child, do you wish for another life? Or maybe forgiveness?"

I laughed at that. "Forgiveness? Why would I wish for that? I have done nothing wrong."

The thing looked at me. "Nothing wrong? You don't believe your actions were wrong?"

I sighed and fixed my hair. "No. I was not in the wrong because they attacked me first. I just gave it back to them, plus some. And the girl was loud. I don't like loud people."

It smiled. "Ok then. What of rebirth?"

"Rebirth?" I repeated. "I wouldn't mind at all."

I looked over the dark cloud and saw the far drop and let myself fall out of curiosity, and after a few minutes, I fell back on the cloud. The thing looked at me and said, "Ok then. Well, would you like a mix of Marvel and DC?"

I looked at it. "Sure, why not? Something is more interesting than nothing. So how do you send me there?"

It looked at me. "Do you not want wishes?"

I looked at the god or whatever. "Why would I? To have powers or something? Sure. How many do I get?"

The thing said, "You get three wishes."

And I replied, "Ok, genie," and the thing laughed.

"My first wish is to have the infinity — for all types of magic from both worlds, DC and Marvel, including but not limited to chi. My second wish is to be able to hold any type of energy no matter how strong or poisonous it should be to me. I want to be able to use it — example, the Infinity Stones. I want the ability to use them without their energy overwhelming me or putting any type of stress on my body, mind, or spirit. But of course not just limited to the Infinity Stones. My third wish is to be a mutant with the power to control people's minds and bodies with a thought, no matter how strong they are or how powerful their minds are — just like an instant win."

And the thing looked at me and said, "Huh. Very interesting. Ok then. All of your wishes will be granted." And it appeared in front of me and pushed me off the dark cloud, and my last thought before I passed out was, Why did you push me? You knew I would just walk off.

What seemed like hours passed, and I woke up in a new body in a poor-looking apartment. I looked around and saw a lack of stuff. I just had a bed and the room and one window. "Where the hell am I?" I stood up and looked out the window to see a dark street, and I saw a man in a bat costume jumping roof to roof. Batman?

"So I'm in the best place to live, huh. Cool," I said sarcastically and walked around.

I couldn't really test my new powers without something. Now that I think about it, I really didn't give myself any physical benefits — kinda dumb, but who cares. I will learn magic eventually.

I walked outside of my apartment and knocked on a random door in the hall, and a girl opened the door looking confused. I looked her in the eyes and told her to sit. She did. I walked inside and closed the door. I saw she had some wine, so I poured me some, and she looked at me from the floor, waiting for another order.

I told her, "Stand." She did.

And I told her to go to her room, which she did.

I drank my wine and left, not caring about her, and I went back to my room. "Well, I know it works now. Or I am just so handsome that she did all of that." I looked in my mirror and thought that wouldn't be too far-fetched.

I sat on my bed and thought, How long is she going to be under my control for? And I let out a breath, not caring to think on it anymore, and I slept.

The end.
