Chapter 22 - Interesting

Was that suggestive enough?

Savier also did not know.

Rylan merely looked at his body, specifically at what he was wearing. Lifted his head and scratched the back of his head as if embarassed.

"I'll return to my room."

He spoke in a matter-of-course tone. Savier also realized what was wrong with what he said.

Ah, right. Rylan also lived here and could go there instead after he was settled. It was his time to fall silent. Savier pursed his lips, finding it hard to respond.

All his calculations... he failed to add their living conditions. He already imagined Rylan also sleeping in this room, probably in the same bed, just like how in movies.

His mind was focused on that area alone, not the whole situation.

Savier put on the casual pajamas he always wore, not saying the whole time. Rylan watched him for a bit, but was not well-versed in discerning his personality yet. Moreover, he was not one to start a conversation either.

Soon, he was already in his bed with Rylan standing beside the bed, watching him. Savier leaned on the headboard, his mind spun for more ideas to make Rylan stay longer.

And yet, his conscience pricked, and sighed inside. He could not let his whims dictate his progress. Rylan was also tired and needed rest. Even if he wanted to make him stay and rest here, he did not have a good excuse for now.

"Goodnight," A weak smile plastered on his lips.

Rylan watched him intently, then spoke with concern. "Are you okay to be alone now?"

Look at him, truly treating him as delicate. Even his parents never did so; after all, he was a dominant alpha. The disappointment for not succeeding in making Rylan stay had vanished slightly.

Savier nodded his head. "I'll be fine, don't worry."

After a few more minutes of assurance, Rylan was convinced and finally left.

Savier looked at the door, which was closed by the alpha, and could not help but glare.

"At least... stay until I'm asleep."

Oh, fuck.

Savier messed his hair with frustration, but soon his laughter rang inside the room. It quickly died down, but there was a smile that did not leave his lips until he fell asleep.

While his intention to let Rylan sleep in the room failed, the first attempt could be considered completed. Savier felt content with that.

As an alpha pursuing another alpha secretly, Savier was also treading blindly. And he was more careful not to make serious mistakes, especially when treating Rylan as omega.

He did not have a reference at all, and as he searched, Savier was even more convinced of how abnormal his feelings were. There were no posts regarding it.

Probably, he was not the first case or anything, but he also knew that those like him might not publicly post their experience. Accepting oneself was hard enough, and it would become more complicated if strangers intervened.

So, Savier could only act normally, but add closeness to it. He was prepared for a long journey; cultivation to become immortal was arduous, and he wanted to compare this cultivation of feelings with it.

After that night, two weeks had passed. Savier made sure that he was always attempting whatever was on his mind to make them closer. No matter how absurd or shameful it was.

His life went on normally, going to school and resting if he had time. The difference was, someone was always with him, and Savier spent time subtly flirting whenever he could.

Just like this time. It was Friday, and the weekend would be a free day for Savier after a while. He already calculated in his mind what he wanted to do, which revolved around Rylan, of course.

Just like he always did lately, he only let Rylan be with him, and the other three were left at home, except if he had to have bodyguards.

Savier did not have official duties and social events to attend, and so his demeanor was accepted from the royal guard's perspective.

"Rylan," Savier called. The more reasons he wanted to be alone was this. They could call each other's names and casually talk, which Rylan would never do in front of others.

In two weeks, the other got used to it and did not sound awkward anymore.

"Yes?"

"Do you have plans tomorrow?"

If he was on rest days, Savier also let royal guards rest or do their personal plans outside the regular or holiday leave they had.

Rylan was no exception. Although for over three months, he never left, unlike the others.

And as expected, Rylan shook his head. "I don't have plans. Why?"

"What do you think of accompanying me to rest somewhere?" Savier had only thought about it just now.

The villa was fine but... There were a lot of people in there, and Savier could not cultivate feelings in peace. Rylan was mindful of others' thoughts, and it was reasonable.

Even so, Savier did not like it one bit.

There was a pause. Savier understood that this was out of the blue.

"Where?" Rylan asked after a while.

Savier straightened in his seat and looked at the driver's seat seriously. It was like he was standing on a podium and was presenting his plans for approval.

In fact, he was more tense. His romantic life was on the line.

"I have a beach villa..." Savier spoke casually, but inside he was nervous. "Let's go there this weekend." No... Savier shook his head. "Let's go now." His tone was eager.

"Now?" Surprised, Rylan reacted a little louder than usual.

Thinking about it, Savier became more determined. Lately, he was subtly flirting but that could only lead to a limited experience points to level up at most.

He had to put more effort, and who was he? He was the crown prince of a powerful empire! He had the resources and personnel to do something for him.

Savier could afford to splurge. Savier planned to be more active than he already was. He had money to create a romantic atmosphere; why not use it?

"But, Savier... It's a little late."

Savier calmed down slightly, but his mind was already fixated on this and could not be stopped. He nodded, understanding the concerns.

"It's fine." Savier reassured, "Can you go to the port..." he spoke the name, and Rylan sighed and nodded.

He was a royal guard and could only follow. He did not know what had gotten to Savier this time, but somehow, he was looking forward to it. Recently, Rylan had noticed something different in the way the prince acted around him.

Savier was always friendly but... Rylan thought it was still strange.

Like this time. He looked up and glanced at Savier in the back seat, who was making a series of calls; there was urgency in his tone, but his face showed anticipation.

Rylan averted his gaze and focused on driving.

His lips curled into an amusing smile. Lately, he found the crown prince, Savier, truly interesting.
