Seeing that he did not deny it and did not sound arrogant at all, the girl nodded with genuine approval, then cheerfully introduced herself.
"I am Jenny, Jenny Realight, a brand new member of Blue Pegasus."
"Mhm, I could tell."
Kabe nodded as if it were obvious, though inside he was a little surprised.
'So it is her. The woman who, in the future, would compete with Mira for the title of first gravure model of Weekly Sorcerer.'
'The same one who later lost her bet at the Grand Magic Games and was forced to run a nude spread in humiliation.'
Of course, that was in that future where Mira had been shattered mentally and taken a pretty dark path.
Right now Jenny was still just a rookie, and with Mira's current temper, plus Kabe himself, there was no way he would ever let her go do some trashy gravure set.
"You could tell I am a newbie?" Jenny was genuinely surprised.
She had not been in the guild long, but for this past month she had been carefully observing how the senior girls handled customers.
Only when she felt she had practiced enough did she finally start taking clients herself.
She had finally picked what she thought was a fresh face, and the first thing he did was call her out as a "rookie".
But then she suddenly thought of something and hurriedly asked, a little nervous.
"Are you a regular here?"
"That makes sense. You were chatting and laughing with Master Bob just now…"
"Damn it, how did I not realize that?"
Jenny instantly regretted it.
Based on the warnings the older companion girls had given her, the regulars were the toughest ones to handle.
Those guys were all old sharks.
If a rookie like her tried to handle them alone, even if the guild rules forbade physical contact, they could still easily run circles around her verbally.
She had worked hard to pick out what she thought was a newcomer, and it turned out she had walked straight into a regular.
She wanted to find an excuse to bail immediately, but his face was so good looking, and he clearly had a good relationship with her guild master, so she hesitated.
Kabe, of course, noticed her conflicted expression.
That only made this more fun to him.
Nothing he liked more than gently corrupting a fresh rookie.
Just as he was about to tease this adorably green Jenny, the steady click of high heels echoed across the floor.
Along with that sound came a female voice Kabe was very familiar with.
"He is not just a regular."
At that voice, Jenny's shoulders trembled. She looked up in surprise and then, recognizing the newcomer, exclaimed with admiration.
"Miss Karen!"
Kabe's smile froze instantly.
He quietly picked up his glass, intending to stand up and leave.
But Karen was never someone who gave her prey a chance to escape.
Her hand shot out and pressed down on his shoulder, forcing him back onto the stool.
Then, to Jenny's utter shock, she leaned down, slid both arms around Kabe's neck, and whispered into his ear.
"You do not even recognize the famous God of Destruction from Fairy Tail, Jenny."
"Looks like you really have not done your homework."
Jenny stared, stunned, at Kabe struggling to pry those arms off his neck, and blurted out in disbelief.
"G God of Destruction?!"
"The one who, a year ago, took only a single week to defeat a ten year difficulty monster all by himself, that genius of the new generation?!"
"That God of Destruction is Mister Kabe?!"
"No, I am not. You have the wrong person. Absolutely the wrong person."
Kabe fired back a triple denial.
He had indeed done that job, but the title God of Destruction was something he had shouted himself in the guild when drunk and bragging.
Somehow, that nonsense had spread and turned into his "official" moniker.
Compared to the real God of Destruction, Beerus, who could make the universe tremble with a flick of his finger, he honestly felt too embarrassed to stick that label on himself.
"Why do you hate that title so much? God of Destruction sounds amazing."
Karen tightened her hold and shook him playfully, her soft curves pressing against his back, making Kabe's heart pound.
"Cut it out, Karen. If you keep this up, I really am going to get mad."
"Alright, alright, I will stop talking."
Seeing how intimate they were, Jenny finally snapped out of it.
She stared, wide eyed, at the guild's most popular female mage, the gentle and glamorous Karen, clinging to him like a little bird, and asked in a trembling voice.
"M Miss Karen, you two are…"
Before she could finish, a sharp, icy gaze slashed toward her.
Karen's face turned cold as she snapped.
"Jenny."
"Y yes, maam!" Jenny flinched and stood at attention on reflex.
"I took you as my successor, but that does not mean you can flirt with my man."
"Remember this. Lord Kabe is my exclusive client."
"If you dare have even the slightest improper thought…"
Karen casually dragged a hand across her own neck in a slicing motion.
Jenny almost fainted on the spot.
"I I am sorry, Miss Karen. I will leave right now!"
She bolted, not daring to stay for even a second longer.
Kabe quickly reached out, wanting to stop her.
Karen caught his hand first, pulled it over, and pressed it against her chest with both hands.
"No, you cannot."
"At least in Blue Pegasus, you belong only to me."
Kabe stared at her.
This was not just clingy.
This was creeping dangerously close to yandere territory.
He tilted his head back and let out a long, helpless sigh.
"Fine. Let us go to your place and talk."
Karen immediately broke into a satisfied smile.
Hooking her arm through his, head held high, chest thrust forward, she led him out of the guild in triumph.
After they left, Jenny cautiously peeked out from behind a pillar.
"G going home."
"Miss Karen actually took a man home."
She gasped in a whisper.
Right then, a deep, magnetic male voice sounded behind her.
"That is only natural."
"After all, he is the man who once saved her life."
Jenny almost jumped out of her skin at the sudden voice.
She spun around, then let out a sigh of relief when she saw who it was.
"Master Ichiya, it is you. You scared me."
