Chapter 232 - The Power of a Champion! The Earth-Shattering Seismic Toss

In the real world, the audience watched with bated breath as Ash's Charizard neutralized Harrison's Blaziken with casual, almost insulting ease.

Many were stunned to see Charizard block a high-speed, aerial Brave Bird—a move fueled by the momentum of a dive—using nothing but its bare claws.

What made the scene truly move into the realm of the "impossible" was that Charizard didn't just block it; it didn't even yield a single inch of ground.

It stood like an immovable mountain against a falling star. To the average observer, it was a display of cool strength, but to the Elite Four and Champions watching the broadcast, it was a terrifying revelation of the gap in raw stats.

[Leon: That's a Blaziken with excellent fundamentals.]

[Marshal: True. It looks like it has firmly stepped into the Tier of the Elite Four (Heavenly King level).]

[Gurkinn: Unfortunately, that's where the praise ends…]

[Alder: It's a pity. If that Blaziken were fighting an ordinary Charizard, even with the type disadvantage, its physical conditioning and reaction speed would give it a 70% chance of winning. But…]

[Caitlin: But he's facing Ash's "God-Killer" Charizard! That dragon has already reached the Champion level and is likely touching the realm of the Supreme Gods. Harrison's Blaziken trying to challenge it is like a porcelain cup trying to shatter a diamond.]

[Cynthia: At the Silver Conference, Charizard lost. Now, a few years later, the gap has become an ocean. It's a testament to how talent and destiny can change a trajectory.]

The world is often a cruel place. Some trainers spend their entire lives grinding, yet never cross the threshold of the Elite Four. Others, like Ash, possess a latent talent that allows them to reach the pinnacle—the Champion level—in a fraction of the time.

Harrison was talented, certainly, but he was not a "protagonist of destiny." The two who were once evenly matched rivals were now operating on entirely different planes of existence. Ash's true rivals were no longer the boys he met in regional leagues; his peers were now Leon, Cynthia, and Steven Stone.

In the Hoenn region, the "real-world" Harrison watched the screen with a complicated expression. He had just finished the Ever Grande Conference (Caiyue Conference) and felt a strange mix of pride and humility.

"I guess I should be satisfied," Harrison sighed. "My Blaziken once defeated a Pokémon that goes on to fight literal gods. Even if Ash's rewards from this inventory make him untouchable in the future, I'll always have that one victory to brag about."

In the Footage—

As the momentum of the Brave Bird died down, trapped in Charizard's iron grip, a predatory smirk spread across the dragon's snout. With a sudden, violent motion, Charizard slammed his paws downward! The emerald-green Dragon Claw hammered Blaziken's head directly into the dirt.

CRASH!

The impact was so immense that Blaziken's pupils momentarily vanished. He was flash-unconscious from the sheer trauma of the blow.

"Charizard, grab him! Seismic Toss!"

The legendary finishing move! At the Silver Conference, Harrison had used a Flamethrower against the ground to cushion his fall and turn the tide. This time, Ash wasn't going to give him the chance to breathe.

"ROAR!"

Charizard seized the limp Blaziken, his powerful wings snapping back as he surged into the stratosphere. He traced a massive circle against the sky, turning into a blur of orange and red, before entering a vertical terminal-velocity dive!

"Blaziken, wake up! Use Flamethrower on the ground!" Harrison screamed.

Blaziken snapped awake mid-air! He unleashed a desperate torrent of fire toward the approaching earth, hoping the recoil would save him again.

"Not this time! Charizard, Dragon Pulse!"

A spiraling vortex of purple draconic energy erupted from Charizard's maw. Instead of firing it at the ground, he wrapped the energy around both himself and Blaziken. The purple spiral acted as a kinetic shield, completely neutralizing the recoil and heat from Blaziken's Flamethrower.

This was the same tactical adaptation Ash had used against Reshiram! The two Pokémon looked like a purple meteor falling from the heavens.

BOOM!!!

An earth-shaking roar erupted. The Littleroot Research Lab—and likely the entire town—shook as if hit by a magnitude-9 earthquake. Dust, rocks, and shockwaves flattened the grass for hundreds of meters.

When the smoke finally cleared, the sight was chilling. Charizard was standing upright, perfectly intact, his tail flame burning bright. Blaziken lay in a crater, motionless.

The Rotom Drone buzzed over the scene. [Blaziken is unable to battle! Charizard wins!]

The grudge of the Silver Conference was finally settled. The revenge was absolute.

[Professor Birch: Man, I hope Harrison isn't too traumatized by this. That was... aggressive.]

[Harrison: Don't worry, Professor. My heart isn't that fragile! Seeing that kind of power is actually inspiring.]

[Caitlin: Good. Don't compare yourself to monsters like Ash and Cynthia, or you'll end up in a spiral of self-doubt. Trust me, I know.]

[Alder: Caitlin, don't talk about 'self-doubt.' If you get depressed and your psychic powers go haywire, the whole Unova League has to go into lockdown.]

[Caitlin: ? Are you saying I'm a liability, Alder? I'll make sure your house is the first thing in ruins if I ever go 'autistic' on you.]

[Alder: ...I'll shut up now.]

In the Footage—

At the Silver Conference, the battle had been a desperate struggle. Now, the gap was so wide it was almost uncomfortable.

Charizard's eyes were no longer on Blaziken; he was looking toward the horizon, his pride swelling. His true goal was Leon's Charizard.

Ash, sensing his dragon's growing arrogance, sighed. "Alright, you've had your fun. Come back, Charizard!"

"Ash… your Charizard grew faster than I could have imagined," Harrison said, recalling his fainted partner. "But I'm not throwing in the towel. Let's see how you handle my heavy hitter from the Hoenn region! Go, Aggron (Boss Dora)!"

The silver-armored behemoth hit the field with a weight that made the ground tremble. Aggron was a fortress of steel and stone, its blue eyes gleaming from beneath its metallic helm.

Ash grinned. "A heavyweight? Perfect! I brought just the right guy for this. I choose you, Snorlax!"

The Poké Ball opened, and a massive, round Pokémon appeared. But instead of a battle stance, Snorlax was lying flat on his back, eyes closed, letting out a rhythmic, earth-shaking snore.

Ash: … Harrison: … Professor Birch: …

[Lance: Hahaha! Did Ash forget to set an alarm for Snorlax before the battle?]

[Red (Crimson): That Snorlax… it's been trained exceptionally well.]

[Caitlin: Are you a psychic too, Red? How can you tell it's well-trained when it's literally sleeping?]

[Red (Crimson): Snorlax is still asleep despite Aggron's heavy landing. That means the opponent's 'pressure' isn't even strong enough to register in its subconscious. A master Snorlax trainer can read the quality of sleep. It's basic.]

[Caitlin: …Basic for a freak of nature, maybe!]

In the Footage—

Harrison remembered this feeling. At the Silver Conference, Ash's Snorlax had also started the match asleep. Harrison had tried to use Hypno to eat its dreams, only for Snorlax to wake up with a "demon-like" expression and sweep his team.

"Snorlax… why are you still sleeping?" Ash groaned, looking at the mountain of fur. "Is Professor Oak overfeeding you? If you don't get up right now, I'm calling the lab and telling the Professor to cut your food rations in half!"

"KABI?!! KABI-BEE!!"

The word "half-rations" acted like a lightning bolt to Snorlax's soul. He sat up so fast he created a small gust of wind, his eyes wide with genuine terror. To Snorlax, eating was more important than breathing. Ash's "demonic whisper" had touched his greatest fear.

"There we go!" Ash cheered. "Win this one, and I'll tell Professor Oak to give you double rations when we get home!"

"KABI-KABI!!" Snorlax immediately stood up, flexing his massive arms with a look of intense determination.

Chloe, watching from the side, was stunned. Every day with Ash, I learn some weird new 'technique' that isn't in any textbook...

Deep in the Kanto region, at the Oak Research Lab, the real Professor Oak felt a sudden, inexplicable chill in his wallet. He didn't know why, but he felt as though a financial disaster was looming.

[Lance: RIP Professor Oak's budget.]

[Professor Birch: It's fine! Samuel is loaded. He can afford a few tons of Pokémon food.]

[Professor Oak: It's not about the money, it's the logistics! Do you know how much 800 kilograms of food per day looks like? That Snorlax is going to eat me out of house and home!]

[Red (Crimson): Based on its muscle density in the video... 800kg might be a conservative estimate. It's an apex predator.]

[Professor Oak: ...]

The battle between the two titans of the earth was about to begin. Snorlax, motivated by the promise of an all-you-can-eat buffet, faced off against the steel-clad Aggron.
