Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Military Base

In the suburbs of New York, within the military restricted zone, stood a recently constructed military base.

Corporal Will Dennison led his soldiers on patrol.

"Will, what do you think is going on with the people sent to this military base?" Private First Class Rader Arteaga whispered behind him.

Will didn't stop walking, glancing back at Rader and saying, "That's none of our business. Our duty is just to guard this base properly."

Rader, however, was persistent and pressed on: "Don't you think it's strange? These people are clearly just ordinary citizens, so why were they sent to our military base?"

"Didn't the superior officer say that these people are all infected with a special, novel virus and need to be isolated and treated?" Will reluctantly explained, seeing that his other soldiers also seemed to have wavering thoughts.

Rader curled his lip in disdain upon hearing this: "A virus? That's obviously just fooling people.

If there really were a special virus, it should be handled by the health department. Why would it be transferred to a military base?

The people in charge must be hiding some secret from us!"

Will frowned and reprimanded in a low voice: "Don't guess wildly. We just need to fulfill our duties."

Of course, Will also knew there was an issue. Even if special virus infectees had appeared, unless there was a large-scale infection causing social disorder, it shouldn't be the military handling it.

But what if he knew? Should he disobey a military order just based on a guess?

Rader quieted down slightly after being scolded by his superior. However, after patrolling for a while, he couldn't hold back a sudden thought and spoke again: "If these people are truly infected with a virus.

What do you think, could it be a zombie virus? Like in the Resident Evil movies and games?"

Will's face darkened when he heard this. A zombie virus had come out of his mouth. This Rader was truly too talkative. If his military qualities weren't so excellent, Will would have kicked him out of his squad long ago.

"Resident Evil? Zombie virus?

Rader, I think you've watched too many zombie movies," the other soldiers in the squad were stunned at first by the guess, then started to tease him.

Rader, however, looked unconvinced: "I'm not just guessing randomly here.

What kind of virus requires people to be concentrated in a military base? And guarded by heavy troops?

And have you seen the weapons transported here these past few days? Those are all advanced weapons originally designed by Stark Industries.

Do you need this level of treatment to deal with ordinary patients infected with a virus?

Maybe the government has been secretly researching bioweapons, and the virus leaked due to an experimental accident..."

"Stop talking nonsense!" Will listened to Rader go off the rails and immediately yelled to stop him: "If someone else hears what you're saying, you'll definitely be in deep trouble."

Rader looked relaxed: "I'm only talking about this with you, aren't I?

Mainly, the actions of the superiors at the base are indeed very... serious.

It's literally like they're ready for battle, preparing to deal with an enemy.

So I want you guys to be mentally prepared. If something really goes wrong, let's not be cannon fodder."

Corporal Will fell silent upon hearing this, then said, "Don't make such unfounded guesses again.

However, everyone still needs to be careful and stay vigilant. The preparations the base has made are truly quite unusual."

The other soldiers in the squad nodded heavily, clutching the weapons in their hands. Some even occasionally glanced carefully behind them, seemingly worried that a zombie might pounce on them at any moment.

In the base's main control room, Brigadier General Bob Dylan held a cup of coffee, listening to his subordinate report on the status of the "patients" housed and concentrated in the base.

"So, you wanted the Bugster Virus to erupt, huh?" a strange voice suddenly appeared in the room.

Bob didn't react at first, until he looked towards the source of the voice and saw the person speaking, immediately becoming alert.

"Who are you? How did you get in here?"

The other personnel in the main control room also noticed the casually dressed and out-of-place Parado. They pulled out their weapons, aimed, and were ready to fire at any moment.

Parado looked relaxed, completely unconcerned about being targeted by numerous weapons. He smiled and spoke to Bob: "You must be the boss here. My name is Parado.

I should thank you for gathering everyone together; it saves me the trouble of looking for them one by one.

Since you want the Bugster Virus to erupt and Bugster creatures to be born.

As a token of my gratitude, let me lend you a hand.

This game is sure to be very interesting."

Outside the military restricted zone, Dan Kuroto and the four Kamen Riders met up with Tony Stark at the agreed time.

Tony looked at the four Kamen Riders in front of him, raised an eyebrow, and said, "So, Dan, do you have the thing ready?"

"Of course it's ready." Dan Kuroto pulled out a blank, thickened Gashat.

Tony said in a frivolous tone, "I'm not going to lie, Dan, your taste is really questionable.

Especially this three-head-tall chubby form, it's really..."

"We are not here to listen to your complaints," Dan Kuroto said coldly.

"Alright, how should we proceed?" Tony nodded and asked.

"Simple. The special Gashat in my hand has the power to activate the Bugster Virus.

Once activated, it possesses the power to activate the Bugster Virus within a certain range.

As soon as it's delivered to this military base, the Bugster Virus within the infected patients in the base will immediately erupt," Dan Kuroto demonstrated the thick, silver-white Gashat in his hand.

"So, all we have to do is throw it in?

And then wait for those Bugster monsters to come bursting out of the military base."

"That's right."

"Do you want my help? Your armor doesn't look like it has flying capability," Tony said, looking at the Gashat in Dan Kuroto's hand, which was lighting up with a pattern, indicating it had been activated.

"Then I'll leave it to you." The corner of Dan Kuroto's mouth, hidden beneath the armor, curled up slightly.

"Don't worry, this small task is a piece of cake for the great Tony Stark.

With the anti-air system in this base, they won't even notice my Iron Man suit. Throwing something down from the sky couldn't be easier," Tony took the Gashat from Dan Kuroto's hand, said a few words, and then soared into the air.

"We'll wait for good news here," Dan Kuroto said with a hidden meaning, watching Tony ascend.

"Jarvis, can you analyze the structural principle of the item in my hand?" Flying halfway up, Tony looked at the Gashat in his hand and asked Jarvis.

"Energy waves, electromagnetic waves, and light waves of all frequencies cannot penetrate the outer casing, making analysis impossible, sir."

Tony shook his head slightly when he heard this: "Alright, it seems this so-called Bugster Virus is not something that can be easily researched."

"We have reached the projected coordinates. Radar detection of the base has been blocked.

Calculating wind speed, gravity, and the Iron Man suit's throwing force. Calculation complete.

Ready for deployment."

Tony's eyes moved slightly, and he was just about to throw the Gashat in his hand into the base.

Suddenly, a fierce roar and vibration came from the base below.

"Jarvis, what's going on?"

"Bugster monsters have appeared." Jarvis captured the image of the base below and projected it in front of Tony.

The solid military base buildings were easily ripped open from the inside out by the Bugsters. Soldiers operated the various advanced weaponry in the base, firing at the few monsters that had suddenly appeared.

Tony even recognized many of the weapons as his own creations, technology sold to the military before the closure of his weapons manufacturing division.

However, even with the advanced weaponry produced by Stark Industries, they could not inflict any effective damage on the monsters that had appeared. The battle was a complete, one-sided crush.

Or rather, the monsters were not paying special attention to the soldiers and targeting them; otherwise, the military forces in the base would have already suffered heavy losses.

"So, the Bugster Virus erupted directly? Then our plan was redundant.

Do we still need to deploy this Gashat that can activate the virus?" Tony couldn't help but hesitate.

"I wonder what's attracting me? This thing is full of powerful Bugster Virus. It must be a treasure manufactured by Dan Kuroto, the president of Genm Corp."

"Who's there?" Tony suddenly heard a voice next to him and immediately activated the suit's weapon system, locking onto the target.

"Allow me to introduce myself. Parado, the true, perfect Bugster creature that has become a complete form." Lights glowed on Parado's body, appearing both virtual and real, as he floated in mid-air.

"Mr. Parado, hello..." Tony seemed to be greeting him, but halfway through the sentence, he immediately pulled away sharply while engaging full firepower.

Energy beam cannons from his palms and electromagnetic pulse interference bombs were all unleashed towards the target in front of him.

"That's so impolite of you." Parado instantly disappeared as if teleporting, transforming into light particles. He then reappeared next to Tony and snatched the Gashat.

"I'll take this Gashat. Consider it your compensation," Parado said, looking very pleased as he played with the blank Gashat in his hand.

"Damn it, what's going on?"

Cold sweat beaded on Tony's forehead. He looked at the relaxed and casual Parado with immense apprehension.

However, Parado seemed uninterested in Tony. After taking the Gashat, he didn't attack.

Instead, he spoke with a playful smile: "Since you, a human, brought a treasure here, Mr. Dan Kuroto must be nearby as well."

He pointed towards the chaotic military base below.

"Go and tell him to come and 'clear' the Bugsters below. Otherwise, if the eight Bugsters down there continue to grow stronger, who knows what serious consequences might occur?"

"You also claim to be a Bugster? Yet you're asking others to deal with the Bugsters below. What is your purpose exactly?" Tony asked, his mood heavy and confused.

"I just want to see and play an interesting game. Everything else is irrelevant to me," Parado said, and after leaving this remark, he vanished into thin air as light particles.
