"The Fourth Hokage trusts you by letting you join the 'Root' I created, and he trusts me too! You will be in the 'Root' I created from now on, so I need to tell you the purpose and responsibility of creating 'Root'…"
In the ANBU headquarters, Danzo, with a bandage wrapped around his right eye, spoke slowly to Kakashi standing in front of him, his expression serious!
He told Kakashi the purpose of creating 'Root', as well as revenge, responsibilities, and so on.
He also emphasized that after joining 'Root', everything would be based on Danzo's orders and under his direct control!
Kakashi just listened there, with everything going in one ear and out the other. It was impossible for Danzo to brainwash him, but on the surface, Kakashi still looked as if he was moved!
After Minato Namikaze gave the reason for wanting him to join 'Root', Kakashi inevitably joined 'Root'. Although he was unhappy, he had no reason to refuse Minato Namikaze, so he could only join 'Root' with displeasure!
Minato Namikaze realized the hidden threat that Root posed to his rule as Hokage the moment he took office. This surprised Kakashi. He was worthy of being the Fourth Hokage, but unfortunately, he sacrificed himself during the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attack after only a year in office, failing to diminish Danzo's influence within the Anbu.
The Third Hokage knew about this as well, but as an old softie who valued old friendships, he never truly weakened Danzo's authority!
And so, Kakashi joined Root, beginning his Anbu career within the organization!
Three months quickly passed. Konoha was running smoothly. During these three months, Kakashi accepted over a dozen missions in Root, including protection, surveillance, information gathering, and assassinations. Without exception, Kakashi completed them successfully. In these three months, Kakashi also interacted with many other Anbu members in Konoha. As a member of Root, he was still a member of the Anbu, so he still had missions with Anbu outside of Root!
During these three months, Kakashi also continuously researched the nature transformation of lightning-style chakra, but unfortunately, he hadn't made any progress yet. However, the power of lightning-style chakra to condense lightning release had increased somewhat!
Kakashi didn't neglect the Three Swords of Hatake either and had been practicing constantly. The power of Raikiri had increased slightly. Although he could still only master two stages of Instant Cut, its power was even stronger!
Chasing Fang still hadn't improved; he hadn't grasped any of its essence!
His relationship with Rin naturally grew closer, but Kakashi still hadn't broken through the final barrier!

Kakashi now understood that every year's Chunin Exams actually held many dangerous elements, which were usually dealt with by Konoha's Anbu or the security forces!
"These unknown ninjas should be from Kumogakure! Damn it, Kurenai is also participating in this Chunin Exams!"
Kakashi muttered under his breath. He had no feelings for Kurenai, but he wasn't happy at the thought of a beautiful woman who admired him being eliminated by enemies from other ninja villages during the exams!
Although he knew that Kurenai in the original story would become a Chunin in this exam and be safe, Kakashi was still somewhat worried. Because of his transmigration, the butterfly's wings had already fluttered, and all sorts of variables could occur!
Swoosh swoosh swoosh!
Kakashi's figure continuously flashed through the Forest of Death!
Besides Kakashi, other areas within the Forest of Death were also entered by Anbu members. After all, it was impossible for Kakashi alone to search the entire Forest of Death!

Kakashi couldn't confirm the cause of death for the other team, but he suspected they were killed by unknown ninjas who had infiltrated the area. Their methods were much more sophisticated, killing with a single blow!
After confirming this, Kakashi began searching for the enemy's trail. He pursued them, and with his Sharingan active, he didn't miss a single trace!
"Asuma, Isono, we've collected the Heaven and Earth Scrolls! We can head to the tower in the center now!"
In a corner of the Forest of Death, Kurenai took the Heaven Scroll from the corpse of a Sand Village Genin, then turned to Asuma and another Konoha Genin, and said happily!
Kurenai and her team didn't notice that danger was approaching them!
