Chapter 5 - Should I give up the Sharingan?

"Damn it! So it really was the Sharingan that made my chakra reserves so pathetic!"

Ever since obtaining the Sharingan, Kakashi had never had the time to properly organize his memories or assess his own abilities.

Now, he finally realized that possessing the Sharingan meant constantly draining his chakra.

"Even with the Hatake Clan's constitution, which grants chakra recovery rates several times faster than ordinary ninjas, I can barely maintain the Sharingan's consumption. Damn it! So the Sharingan isn't such a great thing after all!"

"What should I do? Should I give up the Sharingan?"

Quietly watching Rin, Kakashi found himself torn by this dilemma. If he abandoned the Sharingan, he could restore his chakra reserves to the level of an ordinary Jonin. Combined with the Hatake Clan's special constitution and his father's swordsmanship, Kakashi was confident that even if he couldn't surpass his father, Konoha's White Fang, he wouldn't be weaker than the Three Legendary Sannin!

If he continued to use the Sharingan, his chakra would be constantly drained. Normally, he could only recover his chakra by covering the Sharingan to reduce its consumption.

But if he chose the Sharingan, he would lose the powerful swordsmanship his father had left him!

Konoha's White Fang's swordsmanship wasn't just about swordsmanship; it was extremely Chakra-intensive and could only be executed with the Hatake Clan's unique physique.

By choosing the Sharingan, Kakashi would be abandoning the Hatake Clan's special physique, forcing him to rely solely on the Sharingan for his future achievements. However, there was one advantage to this choice: his self-created Ninjutsu, the Chidori, could become even stronger!

This prospect was highly tempting for Kakashi. The Chidori itself had no inherent flaws, but it placed immense strain on the user's vision—a fundamental weakness. With the Sharingan, he could overcome this limitation!

By perfecting the Chidori's inherent flaw, he could later develop the even more powerful Lightning Blade!

Everyone wants their self-created Ninjutsu to resonate throughout the Ninja World, and Kakashi was no exception.

As Kakashi, now fused with another soul, he held an even deeper affection for the Lightning Blade.

This difficult choice left Kakashi in a state of profound hesitation.

Kakashi knew that his original self would have chosen the Sharingan, driven by the desire to live on with Uchiha Obito's eye. But now, with his consciousness no longer dominated by the original Kakashi, he couldn't care less about Uchiha Obito!

"Kakashi..."

Just then, Namikaze Minato's voice echoed in Kakashi's ear. Kakashi turned to look at Minato, only to find his teacher speaking with his back turned, still gazing toward Konoha.

"What is it, Sensei?" Kakashi asked, his mind racing. *Has he realized I'm not the original Kakashi?*

"Kakashi, you must have noticed the strain the Sharingan puts on you."

"The Sharingan is, after all, the Uchiha Clan's Kekkei Genkai. Since you're not an Uchiha, you can't control it freely and must keep it activated constantly. Even for Uchiha Clan members, maintaining the Sharingan is exhausting. For you, it's nothing but a burden!"

"Sensei knows you've been hesitating about whether to give up the Sharingan. Whatever you decide, I won't object. I just want you to know that!"

"While strength is important, living on with the wishes of your comrades is equally vital!"

Namikaze Minato spoke calmly to Kakashi. He knew that the Kakashi of the past would have undoubtedly chosen to abandon the Sharingan, viewing it as a mere burden. But after Uchiha Obito's death, Minato believed Kakashi had finally grasped the true meaning of a ninja's existence.

Rin's account had already confirmed Kakashi's transformation.

Hearing Minato's words, Kakashi's pupils trembled slightly. If he were to abandon the Sharingan now, it would undoubtedly arouse Minato's suspicion.

"Sensei, I will live on with Obito's eye! Obito sacrificed himself because of me. I will live on in his place, carrying his share of life with me!" Kakashi declared without hesitation.

Having made his decision, Kakashi felt a sense of relief wash over him. Deep down, he had never truly wanted to abandon the Sharingan—not just because of Obito, but also because the Sharingan and the Lightning Blade were undeniably cool. Moreover, if he could awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan in the future, he would become even more powerful!

Of course, Kakashi had no intention of abandoning the swordsmanship his father, Konoha's White Fang, had taught him. Just because he couldn't control the Sharingan now didn't mean he never would. The key was to find a way to deactivate it. Once he solved that, everything would fall into place!

The Sharingan would no longer be a burden but a powerful asset!

Kakashi secretly resolved that even if he chose the Sharingan, he would ensure the Hatake Clan's swordsmanship continued to shine brightly across the Ninja World!

"Good! For now, keep the Sharingan a secret when we return to the village. We'll inform the Hokage first, then decide how to proceed," Namikaze Minato said, turning back to Kakashi with a warm smile. He hoped his disciple would prioritize protecting others over pursuing raw power—just as Kakashi had learned to protect the eye Uchiha Obito had entrusted to him.

"Understood, sensei!" Kakashi nodded, his mood darkening. Through his memories of Konoha, he realized that truly possessing the Sharingan wouldn't be easy.

He didn't know how the original Kakashi had handled things, but he knew he now faced the formidable Uchiha Clan. They would never stand idly by while their Kekkei Genkai fell into the hands of an outsider!
