Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Paper Figurines

"Rong'er, come drink some water first, you've been working since morning."

In the fields, Lin Xiurong waved her hand and the paper figurines who are removing weeds shrank and flew back into her body.

It's been quite a few days since she had awakened her martial spirit, paper, with an innate spirit level of 6.

She's someone you would consider to be smart, but not smart enough for the star section, yet too smart for the regular sections.

All in all, she had been living a satisfactory life here than her previous life. Where she at least have parental figures in this one.

"Coming Mom!"

Lin Xiurong shouted back and quickly ran towards their house, where a batch of steaming dishes were already waiting on the table.

It's much more luxurious than the ones they usually had, since it serves as not only a celebration for her, but, also a farewell.

Today is her last day in the flower village as she would be going to attend school at Nouding Beginner Spirit Master Academy from tomorrow on.

"Children should eat more to grow big and healthy. Especially, someone as talented as our Rong'er." Her mother smiled as she picked a few meat dishes on the table and placed it on Lin Xiurong's bowl.

The dinner was finished quite quickly as they returned to their rooms to rest.

Lin Xiurong in particular sat cross-legged on her bed, her chest rose and fell to a mysterious rhythm. Wisps of white light invisible to the naked eye got absorbed into her every breath.

This is a meditation method that the Spirit Hall deacon gave her to primarily cultivate her spirit power before she attend school.

After three months of training, her spirit power had already been upgraded by one level and she can feel that she's not far from reaching the next.

Time flew by as she was immersed in her meditation, only waking up when she felt her stomach rumbling.

Summoning her martial spirit, Lin Xiurong looked at the piece of paper floating in her hand. Then as she increased her spirit power output, more paper came out, which then started folding into small paper figurines.

A total number of 7 small paper figurines, plain paper figurines with no design whatsoever.

'How about trying something new today? Regardless of the amount of paper I conjure using my spirit power, the max limit of paper figurines that I can control is only equivalent to my spirit level.'

'But before all of that, food!!'

Rushing out of her room, she saw her mother placing plates containing food on the table.

Creak!

Looking to the door, she saw her father walking in with two rabbits on each hand and a bow tied to his back.

"I'm home."

A smile appeared on his face when he saw his daughter and wife. The love of his life and his pride, taking a deep breath, he went into the kitchen to first deal with the rabbits before joining his family in the dining room.

"When you start studying at Nuoding Beginner Spirit Master Academy, I will bring you meat from time to time to ensure you get proper nutrition while you study there."

Lin Xiurong nodded, although she didn't have a lot of knowledge about this world. She knew from her years of experience in reading novels, especially wuxia or xianxia ones, that it's important to have a strong body early on.

Just to be sure, she had to secure this early game advantage.

After she was done with her dinner, it's time to test out the new idea that she had just now.

On whether combining multiple paper figurines will count as 'one' figurine that she can control.

Stepping out of her house, she strode not too far on a barren field near their home. Using the moon as her lighting, she summoned her martial spirit, paper flew around her.

Some formed into a horse, others formed in a human figurine, then a spear and a full set of armor.

Sweat dripped down from her forehead, her chest rose and fell rigorously, she had already used up more than 30% of her spirit power.

The four figurines floated up and enlarged to a height between 1-1.2 meters tall, with the horse being 1.2 meters tall and the human 1 meter tall.

Standing on the barren field, the human paper figurine wore its armor and held its spear, before it closed in on the horse and mounted it.

Lin Xiurong watched, her eyes red, her whole body covered in sweat, just to conduct this experiment. She had used up all her spirit power, meaning if it worked, this could be a paper figurine equal to a level 7 spirit trainee!

And if the experiment is successful, then she would have 7 paper figurine equal to a level 7 spirit trainee, even 8 if she levels up in the next few days.

"YES!!!"

Lin Xiurong shouted, her eyes lighting up when she sensed that this horse cavalry paper figurine only took 1 slot of the 7 that she could control.

That was the last thing she said before passing out from draining her spirit power.

'I'm back! With more energy than ever!'

Standing in front of the village gate, Lin Xiurong tossed the horse cavalry paper figurine in her hand, it quickly reached the height of 1.2 meters tall.

It stood besides the wagon holding goods that will be sold in the Nuoding City market later.

Setting off in the morning, they arrived soon at Nuoding City at noon. Citizens were looking at the paper figurine escorting the wagon.

Stopping in front of the city gate, the guards stopped them, staring warily at the paper figurine standing besides the wagon.

"Don't worry, this is my martial spirit."

The guards looked towards the source of that voice and saw a girl getting off from the back of the wagon.

With a wave of her hand, the paper figurine shrank and landed inside the small box she carried on her waist.

'Nuoding City, this is where I'll begin my story!'
