"A great victory, my Lord," Lord Tytos immediately said, half-kneeling on the ground, respectfully. He then signaled Ser Edmure to be more astute.
Lord Tytos, with his stiff posture, short Greybeard, and hooked nose, wore bright yellow armor inlaid with intricate black jade vine patterns, and a cloak woven from raven feathers draped over his lean shoulders. Lord Tytos had steadfastly defended Riverrun, enduring until now.
"Tha-thank you for your rescue, Lord Gendry," Ser Edmure stammered.
"Both of you have suffered." A siege was painful for everyone, whether attacker or defender.
"You are the true hero," Lord Gendry said to Tytos. If it weren't for Tytos's resilience and astuteness, Riverrun might truly have fallen. Lord Hoster was frail and ill, so Tytos likely managed most of the city's defenses.
"I've protected Riverrun, but my home might be burned," Tytos said with a bitter expression. While he was here guarding Riverrun, his own castle might have been set ablaze by the Lannister.
Edmure's face showed shame. For a Knight and Commander, incompetence was a sin.
"There are still some stragglers, Lord Tytos. The Commander of the southern camp was very clever and has already fled. However, it seems he hasn't completely escaped; the Mercenaries in the camp are causing trouble," Lord Gendry said.
