Juren's pupils shrank as his entire body was thrown backward through the air. He crashed heavily across the clearing, carving a long trench into the ground before finally coming to a stop.
He immediately sprang back onto all four legs, his golden beast eyes locking forward.

A naked woman had appeared without warning. Without movement. Without even the slightest fluctuation. One moment there was nothing — the next, she simply existed.
She possessed curved obsidian horns. Dark scales covered portions of her body like natural armor. Her skin was unnaturally pale. Most disturbing of all were her eyes — completely hollow, empty, without pupils or life. Ancient runic symbols glowed faintly across her forehead, pulsing with eerie crimson light.
Juren stared.
