Kiara walked over.
"That's a handgun." She carefully took it from Scarlett before opening the chamber. "The bullet sits here. This spring pushes every round upward." Then she demonstrated the slide. "When this moves backward, it ejects the empty casing. When it returns… it chambers the next round."
Scarlett listened attentively. Unlike ether techniques that relied upon talent and cultivation, these strange weapons fascinated her because they followed mechanical principles. No mysterious incantations. No bloodline abilities. Everything happened because one part moved another.
For nearly an hour, Kiara explained rifles, pistols, revolvers, suppressors, ammunition types, recoil, rifling inside barrels, effective range, penetration, and even why different calibers existed.
Scarlett eventually leaned against the display cabinet and sighed.
"The more you explain… the more frightening your previous world sounds."
Kiara smiled faintly.
