Tall cliffs rose above the ocean while dense forests covered most of the land. Streams flowed down rocky slopes into the sea, and ether blanketed the entire island so thickly that even Scarlett could feel its richness.
As Bolt descended toward the beach, several overwhelming presences suddenly appeared.
Scarlett tensed.
From the eastern forest, an enormous Nemean Lion emerged with a roar. A majestic Three-headed White Elephant stepped silently out from the treeline. A colossal Black Tortoise slowly raised its head near the shore, while a Thunderbird circled once in the sky before landing on the beach in a burst of lightning.
The Four Sacred Beasts.
All of them.
Waiting.
Scarlett stared, her breathing unconsciously slowing. The pressure coming from the four divine beasts was unlike anything she had felt before.
Then her eyes drifted further inland.
